WRITER/MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER. Responsible for the writing, production, editing and distribution of interactive multimedia and video-based adult learning and training programs. Corporate Photographer and managed corporate broadcast facility. Researched and wrote reports recommending various approaches and strategies to CBT training. Wrote and produced an educational series on home improvement for retail distribution and POS kiosks. Also responsible for the editing and graphic design of the company’s 4-color quarterly magazine “Base to Base.”

Thumbs Up Productions 1993 - 1998

MARKETING DIRECTOR/WRITER. Staff writer responsible for all marketing and sales literature, writing proposals and interfacing with clientele in the creation of audio-video scripts and responding to RFPs. As marketing director, I successfully repositioned Thumbs Up from a small event video production company with an average production budget of $5,000 per video to a mid-sized company with an average production budget of $25,000 and over. Duties included writing proposals, copy for commercial productions, and video-based instructional design. Served as camera operator, and editor as needed.

City of Long Beach 1995-1996

WRITER/DIRECTOR. Commissioned to research, write, and direct a series of documentaries to educate children on the history of Long Beach. This project involved a great deal of research, conceptualization, and project management on tight budget. The program is still being used today in third grade classrooms.

City of Long Beach, Fire Department Training 1994-1995

WRITER/PRODUCER/DIRECTOR. While under contract with the Fire Department Training Center, I interfaced with all levels of fire and paramedic personnel to write and produce video-based training programs and public service announcements. Working with the local cable company, I supervised the creation and debut of The Fire Channel (64) and its 24 hour programming for decentralized training and public relations. Also responsible for creating 2 weekly cable programs on department news.

R.B. Davies, Inc. 1988 - 1992

EDITOR/POST-PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR. Utilizing computerized Edit List Management, I organized and performed the off-line editing of direct response television productions and documentaries such as World Vision Telethons, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and HBO’s Comic Relief and EPKs for major motion pictures. Post-production supervisor for both domestic and international versions of all programs. Also served as field producer, storyboard artist and camera operator as needed.

USC INSTRUCTIONAL TELEVISION NETWORK 1986 - 1988

EDITOR/FIELD PRODUCER. Edited class-room lectures on artificial intelligence and developed a series of monthly television news magazines shot ENG and broadcast via satellite uplink to off-campus class rooms such as JPL, Northrup, and Rockwell. Also served as technical studio director and liaison between the University and special industry guest from Hollywood and high profile thought leaders from the scientific and engineering communities.
