Imbedded within the 2-47 Infantry battalion as a certified athletic trainer. Provided medical coverage for all basic combat training soldiers training under the battalion until graduation after 10 weeks. Duties included: initial injury evaluation, clinical diagnosis, development of rehabilitation programs, emergency and acute care at training events, injury, nutrition, and basic biomechanics briefs, gait analysis and corrections, and data collection regarding Trainee injuries. Daily documentation completed through AHLTA with additional training in CHCS, HIPPA, Cyber Awareness, and Anti-Terrorism.

Season long coverage included rehabilitation of traumatic injuries, away travel, and consistent concussion management. Valuable clinical application: comminuted fracture of 5th metatarsal, SLAP tear, and 3rd degree ankle sprain to only volleyball setter.

Performed pre-participation physicals for football, softball, baseball, cross country, track & field, soccer, swimming, diving, and water polo. Assisted in pre-practice preparation, sideline practice and game day coverage.
