SUMMARY OF MY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interface with senior managers:

When management arrives at a strategic plan, as a QA manager I integrate that plan with the QA plan. For example, once management decided to move from traditional waterfall model to agile, as a coach I provided necessary support to help them(QA members) understand their roles and to perform those properly.

As a QA manager, I have to advocate for the quality across the entire company. Sometimes the job includes preventing releases when it doesn’t satisfy core quality issues.

Provide vision and leadership:

Strategic redirection –test automations (unit test, integration test etc.) are done by the developers, as a QA manager, I have to make a plan to train QA members for making them better automation engineers.

Sometimes agile team fall behind due to unavoidable circumstances– for instance if a QA member becomes sick in a critical period, I have to adjust the plan to overcome the situation.

Considering the organization’s growth plan, I have to research about the size and scope regarding increasing QA members.

Cross-group collaboration:

Eliminate road blocks and keep the team moving while QA members can’t take decision, I step in, interact with other groups and solve problems.

Proactively become involved with projects by notifying project managers regarding bugs need to be included in the sprint.

Help the customer by making them aware of the situations we’re facing, and communicating the status of fixes and changes at our end. Report to senior management:

Report to senior management on the progress against various company initiatives, standardization, and compliances.

Organizational leadership:

Performance evaluation: As a QA manager I try to play an important role during yearly evaluation and also negotiate with senior management regarding promotion and compensation increases.

Recruitment: I play an important role for online job postings, authorizing job descriptions, screening candidates for open positions, and pulling them in a formal interview loops.

Quality process definition:Determine in-house quality definition, standards, procedures and training needed.

Help the agile process work:

Assess customer requirements and ensure that those are met.

Participate in the transition to agile, help QA team through the sprint by reviewing stories, test guidelines and monitor validation progress through burn down chart.

Define simple metrics (e.g. test effectiveness, defect status, resolved rate, failure rate, automation progress etc.) and automating the gathering process. Page 3 of 5

As a QA Manager I have worked with following projects and products. BIQ: Business Intelligence solution is used to make decision by analyzing an organization’s raw data. With this tool business folks can jump in and start analyzing data by themselves rather than waiting for IT to write complex queries for analyzing data. Technology: ASP.NET, C#, WCF, JQueryMx, JavaScript, MySQL, SQL Server. Dashboard: Dashboard is like a thermometer for the business. It gives quick and reliable indication about the business. It offers user’s personalization, interactive gauges, charts, and understandable metrics. Technology: ASP.NET, C#, WCF, JQueryMx, JavaScript, MySQL, SQL Server.

User Management: A generic tool for managing and controlling users’ access to several products of Sentrana. Technology: ASP.NET, C#, WCF, JQueryMx, JavaScript, MySQL, SQL Server.

ETL: A tool to generate warehouse data for different reporting tools of Sentrana like Dashboard, BIQ etc.

Ecommerce: Business to consumer projects targeting customers from the USA, UK and Finland based on Magento open source platform.

Lead collectors: Several web based applications through which lenders apply for short term loans.

Community solution: A web based collaboration tool for sharing messages, files, events etc. among the group members. All the users of this system must belong to one or more groups.

DSGarments: An ERP for readymade garments industries. This product consists of 7 modules (Merchandising/Costing, Commercial, Inventory, Production, Financial/Accounting and Human Resource Management System).

Asset Management System: A database application used for computing depreciation of fixed assets of an organization.

Benipack (Provident Fund Accounting): A database application used for calculating employee benefits - Provident Fund & Gratuity.

CBDB (Credit Bureau Database): A database application for monitoring MFIs’ activities. DSHospital:Hospital Management System (from Patient Admission to Release activities including tests, results, operation &billing).

MIS for NPIL: An MIS system for Plastic industries. It monitors all activities of the plastic bag manufacturing company.
