WORK HISTORY

October 2010 to Current: FIRST CHILDREN SCHOOLS

Administer standardized tests, and provided individual and group therapy in Plainfield School District as a school-based Occupational Therapist. Treated children ages 3 to 14 years of age with conditions and classifications of cognitively impaired, sensory processing and integrations disorders, physical impairments, etc. Consulting with the child study team regarding the students academic performance and what needs there are.

September 2007 to July 2010: PEDIATRIC THERAPY RESOURCES/SUNBELT STAFFING

As a school-based evaluating and treating therapist in Jersey City School District, provided occupational therapy services to pre-k to middle-school aged children. Assist with adapting positioning for effective writing skills. Facilitate collaborative programming during IEP development, document students' progress, continued evaluation of students' performance in the nonacademic areas.

October 2005 to January 2006: CAREER STAFF UNLIMITED/FULTON COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

School-based program providing therapy to age group 3 to 15 with developmental disabilities and other neurological disorders. Consult with teacher(s) in the selection of handwriting curriculum; provide modifications to perform written curriculum.

August 2004 to October 2005: GEORGIA REHABILITATION CENTER

Provided a variety of treatment and physical modalities/agents and techniques for orthopedic outpatients (adult and children), as well as neurological disorders, head injury, and burns. Evaluation and treatment of the pediatric population with sensory processing disorders, developmental delays, PPD, and autism.

August 2003 to February 2005: PRIMARY COLORS REHAB SERVICES

As an independent contractor providing services to children ages 6 months to 3 years in preschools, homes and after school programs involved in the Early Intervention Program.

July 2003 to November 2003: AMEDISYS-CENTRAL HOME HEALTH

In a community-based setting providing education, assessment of need and of the patient’s home, primarily the geriatric population with orthopedic and neurological conditions.

June 2001 to February 2003: LAFAYETTE NURSING AND REHABILITATION

Worked as an evaluating and treating occupational therapist in a collaborative team environment in a skilled nursing and subacute setting identifying the needs and problems, develop care plans and implement care. Other duties included splinting, wheelchair assessment, positioning, and management, as well as bed positioning.

October 1997 to April 2001: PRESBYTERIAN REHABILITATION CENTER

Worked independently in an outpatient setting providing direct care to patients with upper extremity orthopedic and neurologic injuries. Use of physical modalities and agents for healing and pain management Provide pediatric services, ages 9 months to 5 years old with developmental delays and other neurological disorders. Responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating schedule, customized splinting, and implementing OT program. Marketing services within several outpatient orthopedic clinical sites, orienting and training PRN OT staff.

October 1995 to September 1997: REHABILITY SERVICES

Evaluated, planned and implemented services to improve upper extremity usage of individuals with cumulative trauma, reconstructive surgery, arthritis, industrial and hand trauma, acute upper extremity injuries, etc., working closely with specialized orthopedic surgeons.

July 1994 to January 1995: REHABILITY SERVICES-HOME HEALTH

As a contracting therapist providing services upon evaluation of the patient and home, planning, educating, and implementing individual programs.

August 1993 to July 1994: NOVACARE, INC.

As a staff occupational therapist, identified patients’ needs through a screening and evaluation process, patient care management in a geriatric setting.

June 1992 to July 1993: CHARLOTTE ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALISTS

Provided individualized, medically prescribed care to clients with varied orthopedic upper extremity injuries in an outpatient environment. Job and worksite modification, education, and prevention of UE cumulative trauma disorders, and job analysis for return to work after injury.

March 1990 to May 1992: CHARLOTTE INSTITUTE OF REHABILITATION

Planned, organized, and conducted therapy through teaching skills and techniques required for daily activities, and evaluating progress. Applied an interdisciplinary approach to clients, evaluated and educated, clinical consultation with staff working in a a state of the art teaching hospital of a diverse medical population and of diagnosis such as SCI, HI, CVA, pediatric, orthopedic injuries, etc.
