FEEA.org FileMakerPro to Salesforce Migration (Overview here) 2017 FEEA is a non-profit that supports qualifying members of the federal workforce with 4 program benefits. The wanted to migrate from operating their four main programs via on-site FileMakerPro and NEON CRM for fundraising to programs and fundraising on the Salesforce platform.

• Used Visio to model enterprise environment and interactions for a government-sponsored non-profit that administers programs to eligible members of the Federal workforce nationwide. o Implemented key NPSP configuration ssettings on the basis of those findings.

• Analyzed data export from FileMakerPro legacy system to develop a minimally viable schema in Salesforce standard and custom objects to house a portion of recent legacy data, and to support new, ongoing data input processes and workflows.

• Undertook data hygiene and foreign key tracking for compliance with best auditing principles.

• Devised record type strategy to best balance the complexity of the FEEA environment against the Administrative burdens of having a complex schema.

• Developed requirements documentation in collaboration with FEEA management, and then designed custom objects, workflows and sharing configurations to meet those requirements for sandbox user acceptance testing and production go-live.

Stadia Church Planters: uses Salesforce to track the fundraising activities in addition to identify promising human capital for the denomination-specific Church Planting activities it seeks to foster. Project included data analysis and .

• Received the raw data in an Excel workbook with a by-state tab tranches. Data represented 2,000 Church congregations nationwide with a cumulative total of 50,000 Church Planter Leads.

• Analyzed data received and As-Is Salesforce Schema to devise To-Be implementation suggestions that supported enhanced data cleansing and disambiguation strategies. Lead Roles: Each row of in the Excel table represented a congregtaion member prone to making a great church planter. But everyon’e ministry tyle is different, and Stadia wanted to track whether the Lead has proficiency in any

(or all) of 9 different styles of ministry (e.g. Youth Pasor).

• Created junction object between the Lead and the Lead Role affiliation (ministry skills) at attach the affiliation to the congregation.

Church Denominations: As-Is church denominations was tracked by a field on the Account (Church Record Type).

• Proposed and implemented a To-Be schema in which denomination was moved to its own custom object with to received look-up relationship pointers from Church Planter Leads and from Church Accounts. Justifications included enhanced reporting capabilities as well as solving the data integrity issues detailed below.

• Inspected the denomination field value to look for duplicate records on the basis of: o Typos (“Foursquae” is obviously really “Foursquare”). o Truncations (“Christian Reformed” and “Christian Reformed Church” clearly refer to the same denomination. o Inconsistent end-user data entry choices (“Baptist” and “BAPT”).

• Eliminated 70% of the potential duplicates through such inspection. Some ambiguities, however, required client staff with greater institutional domain expertise to advise on a sutiable disambiguation approach. Upload of Transformed Data

• Identified error patterns in Dataloader failures and presented documentation of the error types to the senior developers so that we could agree upon the problem and create a resolution per error type. AARP Advocacy Salesforce-Luminate/Convio Fundraising Integration Project 2010 - 2012 18-month $2MM project to replace the legacy Grass Roots Advocacy database with Convio Luminate on the Salesforce.com platform for C-4 advocacy donations and constituent participation in AARP-led advocacy campaigns. Project created two- cycle equilibrium integration between Convio Luminate, the enterprise Householding database of record, Konnex, and Convio Fundraising (C-4 advocacy). Database size: 11MM constituent records, some of which had dozens of advocacy activities or contributions.

• Created use cases with associated process maps and data feeds & transformation flows to track full synchronization within two cycles of the three-way integration. Prepared detailed documentation for engineering/technical staff, and simplified versions for reporting to management.

• Developed unit and regression test kits and analyzed hundreds of thousands of errors logs in MS Access to identify sources of error and potential remediation paths. Collaborated via change log with vendor engineering teams to improve the connector with each iteration. o Final test kit had 70 testing typologies and took 2 staff 5 hours per test to fully vet the output use cases.

Salesforce Administrator - BluePrint Wealth Data Migration (Project Portfolio Link) 2016 Supporting an Australian wealth management firm in migrating from ACT! To Salesforce. Legacy extract had 24 tables, which were mapped to Standard Salesforce objects and custom objects that support a financial services practice with complex hierarchical customer account & household models and populated by expected classes of financial products, assets and tools such as Loans, Income & Expenses Per Period, Will/Testament, Insurance Policies, Powers of Attorney, Beneficiaries, Ex-spouses/partners, and the accountants and lawyers thereto. Phase 1: Late Spring Dry Run

• Undertook migration of a 20% reduced scale selection from the legacy COIN database and undertook ETL.

• Created transformation scripts for creating Dataloader batch files as well as sequencing recipes for complex look-up & junction objects, as well as workflow rules that might need to be turned off for initial load.

• Identified errors and malformations, devised work-arounds, and created documentation to ensure efficiency of loading and launching under the unforgiving constraints of the final production go-live weekend.

Desktop Aero Software Licenses Management Project 2015 Client had a DropBox 1-GB directory of 3,990 files arising from a few years of software trial and sales activities. The naming conventions were generic (e.g. “license.lic” and so the analysis could not be merely of the directory structure and contents – but of the underlying contents of the files themselves. File types spanned trial licenses, paid licenses, Invoices, Purchases Orders, correspondence, consulting agreements and other deliverables.

• Extracted 537 license files from corporate directory folder tree and removed excess spaces within license text and hash values to normalize license content for import into ETL Access database as license corpus.

• Decomposed & parsed corpus to extract client name and/or user email (for domain analysis & matching).

• Matched 263 paid licenses to 37 paid invoices and uploaded licenses to appropriate Salesforce records, and created closed opportunities to better represent historical transaction coverage in Salesforce. References
