I am a hard worker and a good time keeper. I can work as part of a team, as evidenced with my catering career, and can work on my own and still meet targets and expectations, which can be evidenced through my Open University studies and my writing projects. I take advice and listen to the contributions of others when working as a team, or when I need to consult on issues that I do not understand fully. I have been using this time to build up a small writing career. I have had work published in national and international journals. I have also recently (2018) started to perform my own poetry.

Commissioned to write a Creative Writing course that will be delivered via the Way2Learn TV channel.
Greener Growth (a wellbeing through gardening project) I have been asked to write their monthly column in their local newspaper. Quakers in Criminal Justice. Breckland Scientific Supplies Operative/Buyer 2003-2005 I started as a warehouse operative where my main duties included picking and packing customer orders, stock checks and some record keeping. Within two months I was promoted to buyer (the first time the company had done this) to assist the owner. In this role I was trained to read the in-house computer system and to know the stock levels – which is why I instigated the weekly stock checks. I only left this company to care for my partner and then to start Plot to Pot.
Eastside Christian Ministries Pastor/Team Leader 1989-1992 I started at Eastside as a chef where I was to feed the staff, volunteers and the visitors to the centre. This led to me working on the streets with the ministry team, and then being called for ministerial training and ordination. As a Pastor with the ministry I led a team that looked after rough-sleepers and people with addictions that came to our centre. Prior to 1989
I worked in a variety of kitchen setting taking on differing roles from entry level kitchen porters through to chef and then kitchen manager. I have been responsible for ensuring the day to day running of three kitchens and also worked as an agency chef stepping in to help companies that were experience staff shortages or other difficulties.
