Roles & Responsibilities:

•Reviewing/Creating/Modifying the database structures as requested by Application development team.

•Grant and Revoke of privileges based on the design document. Working on the Authorization problems in Production in case of any emergency situations with the help of Incident.

•Creating and setting up of Utilities like Reorg, Copy, Runstats, Load, Unload, modify etc. through CA7 job Scheduler and Reviewing the job flows if in case of any contentions or Delays in meeting the requirements with the other Application jobs.

•Involved in IMS Version upgrade from V11 to V12 activity happened recently in all Development, Test and Production regions and have performed testing on all IMS application Database related test cases.

•Did implement Fun function to HALDB conversions for the Large databases in IMS.

•Implemented HALDB partition split for the database partitions that are reaching maximum limit.

•Do a health check of all the IMS and DB2 databases on daily basis to monitor if the objects are reaching threshold.

•Generate reports and monitor table space/index space allocations/extends and perform maintenance (Resize table space/index space, Reorgs, Runstats, etc.) whenever necessary for DB2 and IMS, for each space alert firstly discuss with application team and explain the scenario. If that line of business accepts for the changes DBA will raise a change ticket to implement the work in Production.

•Worked with customers for creation of MQTs for the first time in the LOB. While Working with MQTs I have learnt the mechanism of them, How the Refresh process for the MQTs help in solving the Memory resistance issues currently that LOB had.

•As part of DB2 version upgrade process, I have worked on brining the Objects to the current version of DB2 which involves Simple to UTS tablespace, VCAT to Storage Group Conversion, BRF to RRF format, Mutli Table tablespace to singe Table Tablespace.

•DB2 version upgrade process happened across the LOBs and I have successfully converted all the objects to most current version and regenerated all the Housekeeping Jobs Impacted(Reorgs).

•Many Line of Business here deals with the LOB (Large Objects) Tables, I did extend my support to solve the problems that LOB was facing with their Unload and Purge process for the LOB columns. With the current version of DB2 I have introduced the SPANNED yes feature which solved their problems.

•Handled the recovery scenarios for DB2 and IMS databases, Familiar with all the type of recoveries (Point in time, Previous Image copies as requested).

•Solved Backup exceptions that get reported on daily basis to keep the objects recoverable at any point in time.

•I have worked on tuning the queries and the Batch jobs that were reported by Application team as running longer due to performance impact of the queries.
