Programming: MATLAB/Simulink, Arduino, Visual Studio

Coursework: Mechatronics, Robotics, Automatic Control of Mechanical Systems, Control Engineering, CAD/CAM Automation, Finite Element Analysis, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Manufacturing Processes

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Intern Dolphin Labs, Pune, India April 2018- July 2018

Developed programming skills on Arduino with its routine utilization in robotics kits and for automation

Enhanced knowledge of sensors and learned making application for Android devices using MIT app inventor

Assisted teacher with the mechanical aspect of robotic projects, designed CAD models, performed analytics and calculations, as well as guided school children learning at the lab with C programming and robotics kits

Troubleshooted projects related to Mechatronics for other students focusing on mechanical details

PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Digital PID Control Implementation and HIL Testing using Arduino Microcontrollers (UIC) December 2018

Created PID controller and Mass-force system in a faster and creative way using Simulink

Tuned the PID controller to receive good transient response and a quicker steady state response by changing the proportional, integral and differential gains. Utilized knowledge of the input signal and researched techniques

Achieved implementation of PID control on a very detailed but virtual mass-force system by using HIL testing

Verified the results by repeating a similar procedure using Arduino IDE

Smartphone Controlled Home Appliances/Car Toy (Dolphin Labs) June 2018

Interfaced an application using MIT app inventor to communicate with Arduino using a Bluetooth sensor, also provided a speech recognition control along with ON/OFF options

Programmed Arduino to operate home electric appliances as per the signal received via serial port communication from the app. Achieved wireless control of home appliances and toy car using a smartphone

Sensor Based Car Toy (Dolphin Labs) May 2018

Built toy car using DC motor to power wheels, IR sensor towards the front to detect any object within 5cms, light sensor pointed downwards to detect black tracks created for its traveling. Connected them all to an Arduino

Programmed the Arduino toy to follow the black track and change track when obstructed

Accomplished traveling of toy car from point A to B without crashing

Pedal Operated Washing Machine Mechanism (SPPU) July 2017- February 2018

Conceptualized a clockwise-anticlockwise motion for washing by using rack and pinion mechanism, gear mechanism to alter speed for washing and rinsing, and lever mechanism to shift gears and change the cycle

Performed calculations for a 2kg capacity washing machine, designed components and chose appropriate materials. Designed a 3D model on SolidWorks to get an entire aspect of dynamics and size of the mechanism

Created prototype of front-loaded washing machine mechanism and tabulated its efficient analyzed performance

Achieved efficient working of washing machine mechanism with washing, rinsing and drying cycles running solely on human pedaling at an approximate speed of 30 rpm. Eliminated use of electricity

Design of Compound Gear Box (SPPU) October 2016- December 2016

Designed a compound gearbox for a compressor with a given speed transmission ratio of 9:1

Ensured efficient and smooth running of the mechanism by selected helical gears for meshing pair and spur gears for non-meshing pair

Performed requisite calculations and determined the dimensions of gears, shafts, keys, bearings, circlips, casing, and bolts. Considered the approach of heat transfer and oil circulation

Designed a 3D model of gearbox on Pro E and created a data sheet that showed successful results

STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND LEADERSHIP

Sinhgad Student Council Member (SPPU) July 2016- December 2017

Conceptualized and led a CAD competition to escalate design skills of junior students

Increased student enrollment by conducting campaigns for promotion of events and encouraged people to sign up by emphasizing its benefits and correlating with their interest

Drafted proposal letters, approached associations for sponsorships and received many for the Techtonic event

Organized events including Robo Wars, Sports Activities and hosted the cultural event- Karandak

Participated in debates and soccer competitions

Mechanical Engineering Student Association Member (SPPU) July 2015- May 2016

Executed a blood donation camp by recruiting volunteers and coordinated with hospital staff to make it a success

Planned guest lectures on imminent topics and upcoming opportunities to inform and motivate junior students on the latest technology

Volunteered in events including tree plantation, interdepartmental sports, and fun games

Marketed events by writing detailed reports on a college blog in order to inform students and encourage participation
