PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Operations Coordination
Reconfigured wet end operation in order to run wax and ability to make corrugator roll cartridge changes on 50D machine.
Upgraded Interfic glue machine with Chicago electric automatic gap control and developed profile settings for board combinations.
Upgraded single-facers with automatic gap control for pressure roll glue/metering, and glue/ corrugator roll and developed profile settings for board combinations.
Overseen and coordinated installation of Marquip dry end.
Die cutter champion. Primary objectives were to improve performance by reducing set up time to 30 minutes, kicks per hour, anvil rotation, and ink color changes on 1-4 color Marten, 1-2 color Ward, and 1-2 color Koppers Die cutter, 1-2 color Ward die cutter for the wax curtain coater.
Installed Absolute ink systems on all die cutters, and installed anvil grinding systems on the Marten 4 color, and the Ward 2 color in order to reduce ink changing time and matt rotation.
Previously operating a 98” machine with a Marquip/ United wet end and a Fosber dry end at 94% uptime and 26,000 lineal per hour.
Other equipment involved in would include Ward 2 and 3 color die cutters, 6 color United die cutter, McKinley large flexo, 2137 small flexo, Pacific and expert folder gluers, and Automaton labeler.
Shift operations manager for U.S. Steel, sheet finishing division, Mon. Valley Works. Responsible for the tempering and finishing of coiled sheet steel on the Temper mill, #17 Recoiler, #11 Shear line, and responsible for the packaging warehouse. Production of a variety of finishes such as Vit, 5 finish, embossing, brush brite, and commercial brite for appliances, motorcycle, and car applications.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION SKILLS
Direct recruitment and retention of three lead people and staff of 25 employees.
Trained, supervised, and developed three hourly employees into lead roles on each shift for cost savings.
Member of Corporate Corrugator Optimization Team. A team of eight Weyerhaeuser managers which traveled to different plants experiencing problems.
In late 1990’s helped Lithonia, GA plant install 110” BHS corrugator. Trained and worked with operators for one month.
Traveled to Fort Smith, AR following year to install 98” BHS and train operators.
Team member Emergency Health and Safety Organization. Champion of plant emergency preparedness element.
SAP, BVP, Kronos, Kiwi-CCS, RSS, and AS400 proficient. BVP certification and ISO certified.
