Project Description:

ISG (Individual and Small Group) Enrollment and Billing is a Health Insurance policy processing system used by Agents, Underwriters, and Service Centre Personnel to create, view or modify the Enrollment and Billing details of Health Insurance Policies.

Key objectives of the Project is to - 1) Build new capabilities (functionalities) of the system, per Business and/or CMS driven requirements for all product families; 2) Adapt quickly to market demand (i.e. increase the Product Speed to Market) by reducing and consolidating complex functionalities through New changes in Table base, so that the New Products or Product changes are implemented quickly through minimum Development & Testing Efforts as per HIPPA standards; 3) Resolve ASAP the Production issues reported by the Business and/or End-Users, in-coordination with the Business Experts and concerned stakeholders, so as to improve the customer happiness and retain the customer base;

Responsibilities: -

Review the Technical Feasibility of the Sprint Backlog User Stories and their User Acceptance Criteria with Product Owner and other stakeholders.

Perform Impact analysis of the User Stories, on the existing system functionality (involving the programs - JCL, COBOL, IMS DC, etc. and databases – IMS DB, DB2, Stored Procedures, etc.) to understand - Impact of New requirements on existing functionality, Risks/Issues hindering their Implementation, Performance issues of SQL Queries (for DB2) and IMS DB functionality calls.

Design Feasible Technical Solution from the existing programs and Databases or through new programs (using the concepts of JCL, COBOL, DB2, IMS DB, IMS DC, SQL, etc.)

Provide ROM (Efforts Estimation) for Development, SIT and Prod Implementation related Activities.

Resolve the Technical Issues and Challenges hindering the coding and testing of user stories, during Development and Testing Phases.

Code and Test the Complex User Stories, involving the business-critical screen change programs and the New Tables addition to the ISG Databases Schema.

Optimize the code of JCL, COBOL, IMS DC, DB2 programs and fine tune the performance issues of SQL queries and IMS DB functionality calls to enhance the performance and error handling features for the incoming high-volume files during the open enrollment period.

Perform quality review on Development team and QA team deliverables and work with concerned stakeholders to turnaround the issues ASAP.

For Code Fix and/or Database Correction issues, provide the Impacted volume by querying the Production Databases (DB2) using the SQL queries or creating One-Time adhoc programs (using JCL, COBOL, IMS DB and/or DB2, etc.). Also, implement the necessary Databases (DB2 or IMS DB) correction to Turnaround the Issues ASAP.
