Plant Manager

Lead a multi-plant rubber compounding facility for the #2 rubber compounder in the U.S., with annual revenue up to $50M. Using Lean Manufacturing techniques and problem-solving skills to drive improvements and change culture. Utilizing Green Belt projects to reduce costs and drive improvement trends in plant metrics (Safety, Cost, Quality, Delivery, etc.), and creating the environment for an engaged workforce that is heavily involved in continuous improvement.

Selected Contributions/Achievements:

Implemented the first “5-S” events, and facilitated the completion of 2 Green Belt projects with cost improvements estimated at $50,000

Reduced overtime costs by $94,000 YTD

Increased Pounds/Labor Hour from 148 to 177

Decreased Total Labor Cost/Pound from $0.172 to $0.168 (labor savings of ~$12K/month)

Managed production start-up for the entire Chassis department, set up manpower, initiated training, handled disciplinary hearings and Union negotiations, conducted performance reviews, filled in for the superintendent when needed, and made all relevant decisions related to production performance on a daily basis.
