04/2014 – Present COOK CHILDREN’S HOME HEALTH. Fort Worth, TX

Team Lead Occupational Therapist

Evaluate and provide active and consultative treatments to the pediatric population with different disabilities such as: Developmental Delays, C.P., Congenital Malformations, Sensory Processing Disorders, and more.

Develop treatment programs to address identified areas of concern in ADL/IADL following the medical model to improve the child’s functional independence and/or improve quality of life.

Develop home programs and provide instruction and demonstration to the patient/family.

Team Lead of all Occupational Therapists working with Cook Children’s Home Health which includes: listen to team members’ questions and concerns and provide support and leadership, contact team members in case of emergency to gather their position and safety, and assist with team building activities. Attend team lead meetings to discuss issues and concerns in the field.

Supervise COTAs and provide them with an appropriate Plan Of Care for each patient. Monitor their supervision logs. Review their documentation. Support in problem solving and problem resolution instances.

Assess and provide recommendation and instruction in use and maintenance of appropriate Durable Medical Equipment (i.e. bathchairs, toilet chairs), Adaptive Equipment (i.e. adaptive writing tools and utensils), and Splinting (i.e. neoprene splints, thermoplast, and dynamic splints.

Continue to update my practice by attending a variety of Continuing Education courses.
