Project Title : “A CURRENT CONTROLLER DESIGN FOR CURRENT SOURCE INVERTER –FED AC MACHINE DRIVE SYSTEM”

In this project, the multi-loop current controller has been proposed for CSI-fed AC machine drive to avoid the Resonance caused by the LC filters through the step response.

In order to design the multi-loop current controller, two stage modeling has been employed. Additionally, two decoupling methods, namely (i) Feed Froward decoupling method, (ii) Complex vector decoupling method, have been proposed to decouple the coupling term incurred by the coordinate transformation to the synchronous reference frame.

In order to avoid instability or degraded dynamic response, the active damping methods based on the virtual resistance has been embedded in the proposed controller.

The stability and the characteristics of the two decoupling methods has been analyzed in the discrete time domain using ZOH equivalent.

Among the proposed damping methods, the series active damping methods has more effectiveness for improved stability and dynamic response than the parallel active damping method in the proposed control scheme.

The proposed circuit will be simulated and verified by the MATLAB.
