Learnt field instruments like pressure sensor, differential pressure transmitter, temperature sensors, level detector and flowmeters. Also about stack gas analyzer, pH, conductivity, PLC and DCS architecture. Project: Self balancing two wheeled Robot using PID controller. Two wheeled balancing robots are based on inverted pendulum configuration. An inverted pendulum is inherently unstable, and must be actively balanced in order to remain upright. The IMU(accelerometer and gyroscope) sensor first senses the current tilt angle and sends it to the Arduino(microcontroller), the Arduino program compares the current tilt position with the set point or balance position (angle at the upright position) and measures the error. The PID controller is used to reduce the error. PID gain constants are found by tuning method. Then the error is used to determine the motor impulse (current) that needs to be given to the motor driver. The impulse signal (current) is sent to the motor driver using pulse width modulation (PWM) signals from the Arduino. Using these PWM signals an H-Bridge the motor driver adjusts the motor direction and torque enabling the robot to balance.
