Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions
Associate Project Manager – Automotive Electronics Packaging (04/2016) - Present Technology Specialist – Automotive Electronics Packaging (04/2014 - 04/2016) Senior Engineer – Automotive Electronics Packaging (10/2010 - 04/2014)
My main responsitbilties include to conduct research into design, reliability and performance of automotive systems for North American and Asian market.
Plan and manage projects, prepare cost and timing estimations, reports and design specifications and documentation adhering to quality control guidelines.
Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE), Moderate design review using FMEA, DFM, DFR & DRBFM.
Design housing (Metal/Plastic) for ECU’s for global projects and generate manufacturing drawings (drafting) as per BOSCH design norms. Perform tolerance stack up analysis, ECN, ECR and effective coordination with suppliers and manufacturing plant using Solidworks.
Analyse dynamic, vibrations, thermal and thermo-mechanical behaviour of mechanical systems using ANSYS that will help Investigate mechanical failures and provide solution from reliability point of view.
Deputed to Automotive Electronics division Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany for 18 months to work on development of active safety system ESP (Electronic Stability Program) ECU for BMW. Project task involved housing design and drawing generation, perform Thermo-mechanical simulation and warpage measurements of molded product. We achieved results ahead of given timeline and saving 19% of total project budget and this was achieved by using DoE to select effective material and use material characterization data to conduct effective simulation and warpage study.
Worked on Intelligent transport system ECU for Korean and American auto maker. The product was developed from scratch and my role was associate project lead in ECU mechanics. I was able to collaborate with cross functional team (Software, hardware and plant) by agile method of product development that aids to work under pressure and this helped us maintain short development timeline of 20 months.
As part of process improvement and automation, worked on software project with help of Python scripting building tools to help automate repetitive tasks and report generation that led to 23% improvement in efficiency. Tantra Infosolutions Private Limited
Senior Design Engineer (04/2009) - (10/2010)
Design Engineer (04/2006) - (04/2009)
Trainee Design Engineer (06/2005) - (04/2006)
Mechanical engineering, 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation using Solidworks adhering to GD&T requirement of bakery conveyor systems for Stewart Systems Inc, TX USA. Product list involves Conveyorized Proofers, Conveyorized Ovens and Pan & Lid Stackers/Unstackers.
Executed 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation using SolidWorks adhering to GD&T requirement of component design for Altec Trucks, USA. Products worked involves over center and Telescopic aerial trucks.
Design of Spreader assembly for RTG (Rubber Tired Gantry) cranes and also Worked as Team lead for design and drawing creation activities using Autodesk Inventor and ensured customer interaction & on time project delivery for Mi-Jack products, USA.
Mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, drawing creation and Engineering change request using Autodesk Inventor adhering to GD&T requirement of hydraulic component design for Yuken, India.
Subsea collet connector’s structural simulation using ANSYS to verify the strength of sealant for external pressure.
