Responsible for the operation & maintenance of 300mw x2 sets of BTG, BOP. Boiler & Turbine make is Dongfong, China of subcritical single reheat and drum type and dry bottom and TG with HP IP & LP with HPBP & LPBP. Manage the techno-commercial aspects including coordination of materials, manpower and equipment to ensure safe and qualitative completions to budget and schedule. Involved in handling preventive & predictive maintenance, of various equipments, condition based maintenance of equipments to ensure maximum machine uptime
Prepare action plan & schedules for seamless execution of the projects. Managing the administrative aspects and accountable for allocating tasks to the resources in coordination with the Superiors
Prepare commissioning reports, test reports, job completion reports. Liaising with client & consultant for understanding the project requirements Involved in the tendering and developing estimates and project costing and handling procurement for project requirements.
March 1993 - Apr 2011 Assistant Manager – Operation Hindalco Industries Ltd., Hirakud Power (Aditya Birla Group) Led and guided the operation team involved in power generation & distribution at its present capacity ( 367.5 MW) to meet the challenges of the present and future needs of the customer and business as a whole in terms of cost, quality, delivery, innovation & productivity.
Successfully executed and supervised the operations, control & maintenance of boilers, TG I,II &III sets as Shift In-charge Engineer in Control Room I &II & from DCS.
Supervised Boiler start-up (cold, hot) and shutdown, TG rolling (cold, warm, and hot) and shutdown activities, unit islanding, unit black out, resynchronisation, TG protection systems, etc. Handled boiler tube leakage problems ash disposal problems, etc. Monitored site activities like Water site, Boiler site, Power House Site, Ash Disposal System, ESP, etc. during maintenance of Boilers, Turbines, DM Plant.
Coordinated with unit-IV, 100MW; and Unit-III for plant load management and PLF, etc. Handled operation and control of unit-I 67.5 MW from DCS in coordination with Grid Participated in the Boiler and Turbine Maintenance activities during shut down and initiated emergency action during tripping of boilers, turbo generator, total power failure etc. Ensured corrective action to control high unburnt in fly ash and problems in bottom ash. Successfully handled operations for 4x60 MW, PF Boilers(ABB-BABCOCK), TG (Siemens). Ensured proper working of boilers, turbines, ash handling plant, DM Plant, Remote Raw Water Pump House.
