Recognized for great organizational skills and follow-through while serving as a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist for Port Blakely Companies US Forestry Division, better known as Port Blakely Tree Farms, headquartered in Tumwater.

Port Blakely Companies manages working forests in Western Washington and Oregon and has a long history in the forest products industry. Founded in 1864 in Blakely Harbor, an inlet on the East Shore of Bainbridge Island in Washington State, it became the world’s largest sawmill under one roof, supplying lumber to California, Australia, Europe, South America and the Eastern United States. In 1882, it was producing 200,000 board feet daily, making it the largest of any sawmill on the Pacific Coast.

Today, Port Blakely Companies produces forest products, logs, native plants and lumber, as well as creating residential and mixed use urban communities. During 2016, the Company renamed its 3 Divisions, with Port Blakely Tree Farms becoming US Forestry, Blakely Pacific—a wholly-owned subsidiary of working forests in New Zealand—becoming NZ Forestry, and Blakely Pacific—a 2005 acquisition of the export log trading firm Pacific Lumber and Shipping—becoming PLS International. Port Blakely Companies is privately owned.

Key responsibilities as the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist include managing all new vendor additions, reviewing all invoices submitted for payment, processing sensitive Corporate payments, ensuring all sales tax has been properly paid, and preparing and distributing all 1099/1096 annual tax filings for multiple companies. Additional responsibilities include:

—Serving as the Administrator for the Corporate Credit Card Program.

—Entering wire and ACH payments, reconciling daily bank activity, reconciling monthly cash receipts, and managing daily lockbox deposits.

—Being the Credit Analyst for applications, band and trade references, and reviewing credit limits with the Controller.

—Performing numerous general accounting activities, and supporting the annual budgeting process.

Started with US Forestry as a Forestry Accountant before being promoted to the Accounting Manager, managing the day-to-day operations of the Tumwater Accounting Department, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and all Accounting Functions as well as performing payroll processing.
