As an Orthopedic Physician Assistant and Clinical Coordinator of the Joint Replacement Center I developed and implemented a comprehensive program designed to enhance patient care while having a total joint arthroplasty. Integrated and provided oversight to multiple independent departments within the hospital to facilitate communication and developed a streamlined continuum of medical care. Created an orientation program for total joint patients, structured to enhance patient knowledge and improve understanding, thus embracing and empowering the patient. Financially reversed the performance of the Orthopedic Department, that previously reflected and annual loss of 1.5M, and in less than one year generated a positive 3.8M. I grew the program into a Premier Site, recognized by Medicare as a " Top Performer". Ranking the joint Replacement Unit as number one in the state of Oregon and twentieth in the country. Supervised the operational aspects of the total joint program, continually advancing and refining the program to become one of the nation's Top 100 Joint Replacement Centers. Developed a hip fracture pathway that decreased LOS on average by three days, reduced morbidity and mortality by 38 %, and saved nearly 0.5M annually.
