Volunteer(unpaid)– In August of 2017 the city of Houston experienced devastating flooding from Hurricane Harvey. My home and vehicles were damaged and lost due to the flood. During and after repairing my home, I assisted other homeowners. Early after the floods I assisted in helping flood victims remove personal belongings, cleaning and sheetrock removal. After demolition and trash removal, I assisted with sheetrock installation and painting. I assisted with preparing sandwiches and washing clothing for families still displaced by the flood. I continue to assist homeowners in finding affordable contractors, assisting seniors with their computer and online needs – building and updating their home repair budget spreadsheet. I remain with seniors during some home repairs and transport them to builder suppliers during the week when necessary.
9/2015 – 8/2017 –LONE STAR COLLEGE
Senior Human Resources Manager – Provided day to day performance management guidance to various leaders within the College including two Executive Vice Chancellors (IT and Legal), multiple Associate Vice Chancellors and the College Chief of Police (coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions). Worked closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention. Managed five (5) System Office Human Resource staff employees.
