Position--- Restaurant General Manager
Burger King, Rudrapur, India (franchise owned by Everstone Capital at the Metropolis Mall, Rudrapur) outlet in Udham Singh Nagar which has a capacity of 95 seating in store. This outlet has a staffing of 20 Team Members, 1 Restaurant General Manager, 3 Shift Managers.
Roles & Responsibilities
Driving the set-up of operations and ensuring smooth running of operations with the objective of Total Customer Satisfaction at 100% and Ensuring to focus on the Company Goal “We are earning our Place to be the Customers first Choice”.
Handling all daily operations including promotional activities, interaction with the customers, strategically planning.
Taking care of all employee’s, right from selecting, hiring, training, scheduling & providing corrective feedback to further promote & groom them into self disciplined, highly productive, valuable and successful team members.
Making accurate daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly projections of sales trends, transaction trend
Hold effective management meeting to exchange ideas on any operational procedure changes, also conduct crew meetings
Determining the restaurant profit & loss opportunities & formulate corrective action plans by setting objectives for self & mgmt. Team.
To gather customer & employee feedback and judge patterns, trends to initiate specific actions for the continuous improvement of total customer experience & satisfaction in the store.
To conduct market surveys on the basis of which, develop local store marketing activities / tie-ups & execute in the store promotion extensions.
To follow up in achieving monthly target for food cost controllable and reconciling the profit and loss statement with accounts department and identify the ways to increase profitability.
To develop the daily employee incentive schemes & creates a positive, fun work place
Participates in the restaurant human resource program, like organizing team committees for various purposes for example (health and safety team, enthusiasm team etc.
Implementing LSM Tactics, Implements sales building exercise e.g. Birthday Parties, Kitty Parties.
Reconciling the actual monthly profit and loss statement with the accounts department and identifying ways to increase profit either by increasing sales or by optimizing expenditure by close and consistent follow up on all the heads and controllable of P&L line items.
Handling Training, Ordering, Planned Maintenance, H.R, and Payroll, Scheduling etc. as specific departments with utmost accuracy and knowledge to ensure that everything goes smooth and remains aligned and hence improving the QSC of the Restaurant.
Managing Departments
Training System-
Developing highly effective employees by preparing the Training Plan for all the new joiners and existing employees (Team Member, Management Trainee and Shift Manager). Conducting follow-up sessions and evaluate their performance and provide regular feedback, so that they can work on the highlighted opportunities and improve their individual performance and hence the Restaurant Results
Ordering System-
Preparing accurate daily, weekly, monthly orders for consumption in a given period, ensuring that it is sufficient for the business need and is not excess, resulting in wastages and impacting Food Cost negatively. Ensuring that the storage area is clean, organised and well maintained
Planned Maintenance System-
Handling Maintenance & Repair of the Restaurant Equipments and the Building. Planning the Daily/Weekly/Monthly maintenance tasks to ensure proper upkeep of the Equipment and the Building, further ensuring that the expenses incurred on the repair of wear & tear are optimised. Co-ordinating with Service agents for minimising the Equipment breakdowns and hence the breakdown costs. Ensuring that the planned AMC’s are utilised productively and effectively.
Human Resource System-
Projecting the Hiring Need for the Restaurant & Hiring Team members for the Restaurant. Maintaining the personal files of the employees with all of their required Documents as per Company Norms. Ensuring that ESI facility is provided to all, as per Govt. rules. Ensuring that Labour law made by the state Govt. is followed. Keeping the record of employee performance for the complete year, so that the same could be considered during the Annual Performance Reviews. Retaining the best employees and control any potential turnover. Running various in-store competitions to keep the Restaurant environment and Crew Morale charged up. Rewarding the employees for exceptional performance to maintain the spirit and minimizing attrition. Address to all the issues / concerns and suggestions raised by the Employees in context of Restaurant Ambience/Health & Safety etc. etc. Conducting Crew meeting sessions to lay down our expectations and providing them the required resources and having a commitment.
Payroll System-
Managing the Payroll of All the Employees (Team Members, All Managers, and Utility Operator) and forwarding the required data to the Accountants for further processing. Ensuring that the Salaries are paid in time and are accurate. Overtime policy maintained as per State Govt. Law.
Scheduling System-
Scheduling employees, keeping in mind the daily projection, so that the crew members are sufficient for the Shift to meet the demand of the customer flow. Also, ensuring that Crew productivity is optimised and the restaurant Labour % is under Target
Local Store Marketing-
Focusing on the Community Involvement and helping the Restaurant to Increase the Guest Counts by various social activities, School Tours, Workshops, Restaurant Tours, etc. Hence contributing to build a bond with the society, further increasing the Trust Level of Customers
