Summary of Work Experience

I was responsible for pre-development of new commercial and renovated projects. Designed and developed site and construction drawings with historical research on each project chosen for construction. Interfaced closely with architects, engineers, office staff, and project superintendents providing application of laws, building codes, regulations, permit acquisitions, EPA, and legal requirements of public authorities to ensure a good work performance. All assigned projects hold the greatest risk to time of completion, labor and site purchased material, safety, difficulty level of construction. Each project demands strict attention to preplanning, teamwork, scheduling, execution with safety, analyzing job costs weekly and follow through with completion.

My career expertise consists of many types of commercial buildings, including concrete formed structures, concrete tilt-ups, structural steel, wood frame, and steel frame structures.

Responsibilities

Oversee the construction project from start to finish, performing a key role in project planning, budgeting and identification of resources required. Create and establish the teams, develop the objectives and goals, and assign individual responsibilities. Assist accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project. Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule, devise the project work plans and make revisions as required.

Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project. Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project. Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a required basis and hold status meetings with all the sub-teams. Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines and quality standards, including periodic inspection of construction sites to ensure project documents are in compliance. Identify and review the various elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and plans.

Energy code standards and compliance, energy design and field compliance to ensure required materials and equipment were properly installed in accordance with the approved building plans, specifications, or documentation. Building systems covered included: Building envelope, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, with inspections for the commercial provisions of the IECC.
