Rare Disease Specialist (RDS), Rare Disease, Cardiology, Hematology, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology First of ten Rare Disease Specialists hired nationally to uncover the appropriate health care professionals treating hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (hATTR) in large teaching hospitals as well as community-based HCP points of interest across South Florida, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Charged with both learning current diagnostic protocols across specialties, as well as educating clinicians about emerging diagnostic methodology and increasing disease state awareness in preparation of Tegsedi ( inotersen SC) launch.

• Launched the world’s first subcutaneous injectable RNA targeting therapy for Hereditary Amyloidosis Transthyretin : Tegsedi ( inotersen)

• Developed KOLs at the following centers: Cleveland Clinic, Florida Cancer Center Specialists, University of Miami, University of Puerto Rico, Veterans Administration of the Caribe, and First Choice Neurology

• Uncover diagnostic protocols and provide extensive disease state and diagnostic education for clinicians

• Along with internal Patient Services Group, partner with advocacy groups such as the Amyloidosis Research Consortium (ARC) and Amyloidosis Support Groups.org to uncover opportunities to educate patients and clinicians as well as uncover potential treating HCPs across Florida

• Successfully identified 53 patients through disease state awareness campaign

• Actively participate in the following conferences: FLASCO, FSNEURO, ACCFL, ASNC, ASH, Sociedad Puertorriquena de Cardiologia and Academia Puertorriquena de Neurologia

• Initiated and currently lead monthly team journal club based on clinical articles related to disease state and diagnostic pathways of hATTR

• Assist with ongoing training of newly hired teammates and serve as resource for inquiries related to internal processes and streamlining the creation of applicable target lists through effective questioning
