I had full delegation for implementing and managing the volunteer program for a complex medical
facility with 4 primary care outpatient clinics in 4 counties in the Tampa Bay Area with 1300 active
volunteers. The day to day operations of assignment of volunteers, on-board, background checking
and managing volunteer in without compensation status, managing Veterans Service Organization,
overseeing all general-purpose accounts and having fiscal responsibilities for over a million dollars in
monetary and in-kind donations for the facility and Fisher House Foundation for FY 18.
-Planned and executed all special events, VIP-Dignitary and congressional visit.
- Improved the validation process of donations and increased validation by 115% in 6 months.

Managed the day to day operations of supervising 25 other therapist using vital decision-making and
clinical reasoning skills to manage, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the largest Recreation
Therapy program in the Department of Veterans Affairs. I created new programs, improved existing
programs to all areas of the facility including long term care, psychiatric, domiciliary, spinal cord injury,
general rehabilitation, poly-trauma and adapted sports. Mentor and training staff in 14 different CARF
programs. Additional duties included, time keeping, payroll monitoring for staff on 13 different tours of duty, Budgetary management, policy and procedure development and implementation for a
large 1-a tertiary facility.
Increased donation by 75% through education and presenting to external stakeholders to
budget shortfalls and the currents needs of the Veterans and active duty special operations
command service member returning from war.
June- 2010-Testified in Congressional Field Hearing to Members of the Congressional Veterans House Committee on the value of Recreation Therapy for Veterans being treated in VA Hospital throughout the country, requested line item budget for 5 polytrauma facilities.
Worked with the Local USO to facilitate a room within James A. Haley Veterans Hospital dedicated to
the families for socialization and visitation. First VA hospital in the country to partner and have a USO
inside the facility. -Partnered with Yum-Foods and family foundation to grants the $50,000 needed to
convert the outdoor space during the polytrauma major project to the USO Room.
Introduced the concept to leadership to allow for a therapeutic climbing wall to the new polytrauma rehabilitation center, located the funding and worked with contracting to complete the $ 130,000 project.

I was a member of an inter-disciplinary rehabilitation team serving active duty and Veterans in Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation. I worked closely with other team members to facility appropriate
activities to meet the common goals of the clients. I predominately worked in Spinal Cord Injury for the
15 years.
Wrote the original $200,000 grant to purchase adapted sports equipment for Kayaks, Golf, Scuba, Fishing
Implemented the first US Paralympic Military Sports program within VA.

seniors with dementia, depression and other Psychiatric disorders. Provided recreation therapy
