Executive Biography

Michael Persichilli is an accomplished Executive with more than 25 years of experience, the majority directly responsible for developing and leading successful sales and marketing teams. A self-described “recovering engineer”, Michael’s background in steam & power generation, environmental compliance, and manufacturing has allowed him to provide technical and commercial support to customers, contractors, suppliers and strategic partners covering many industries.

Leveraging extensive experience with go-to-market strategies, Michael is an asset for companies seeking guidance on launching new products/services, entering new markets and profitable growth in existing markets. His broad areas of expertise include engineering & product development, proposal development, sales & marketing, contract negotiation, project management, process improvement, operations management, government relations, and compliance working with start-ups and emerging/growth companies, privately held business, equity-owned and public companies.

Throughout his executive career, Michael has held leadership positions with Echogen Power Systems LLC (EPS); Babcock Power Inc. (BPI); The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W), and Jones Operations & Maintenance Company (JOMC). More recently, Michael has been engaged with Equity Owned and Privately held businesses and has been responsible for achieving >35% growth Year-over-Year (as a Consultant) for an eCommerce growth company; defining the platform that helped drive this growth and developed and implemented an improved onboarding/talent development process to support the growth. Additionally, as VP of Sales and Marketing for a 3rd generation family owned precision manufacturing company, Michael defined protocol to support ISO certification, defined and implemented re-branding and oversaw development of an external representative network. During his prior engagement as Vice President of Sales and Marketing with a leading privately held manufacturer of processing equipment for the poultry industry, Michael successfully re-branded the company, launched two new products and recaptured market share in its domestic (US) market while expanding its’ presence in Latin America, Europe, Russia and SE Asia. At EPS, a technology development start-up company, he helped raise $70M+ of investor and grant money (State & Federal), leading both the sales and project execution teams during his 4 years as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. He left when the company had five fully-funded development/demonstration programs.

During his 20-year tenure at B&W, holding several positions including Director of Global Marketing, Michael was a leader in expanding the company’s international business from $150M to $600M 3-year rolling average, and was directly responsible for management of its' global representative network covering over 40 countries. As COO of Babcock Power Sales Inc (one of the BPI companies), he was directly responsible for Sales & Marketing of all the BPI companies, taking the corporation from <$400M to >$1B within five years after the management/investor buy-out of virtually all the USA assets of its’ prior parent company; Babcock Borsig AG. Babcock Power Sales Inc. also provided Finance, Legal, Procurement and Human Resource functions for all the BPI companies.

Michael has a Bachelor of Engineering in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College, where he also obtained a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Operating Engineer License, and subsequently served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, earning an honorable discharge as Lieutenant. Michael has served as an Advisor to Babcock & Wilcox’s Joint Venture companies, managed its licensing program and a global industrial marketing cooperative program within the joint ventures. In addition, Michael was a School Board member that helped the district out of a Fiscal Emergency situation during his initial term, and a volunteer for the Akron (Summit County) American Red Cross Disaster Team.
