Head Design

Directed the entire design process for a $200 million company. Conceptualized a high-quality trend-driven Missy, Plus, and Petite brand with innovative styling and fashion at affordable prices.

Spearheaded all color, trend, fabric and print development, and silhouette. Managed a design team in the creation of Separates, Dresses, Knit Tops and Woven Blouses. Oversaw all fittings, creating a consistency throughout the company. Worked directly with Steinmart and other key accounts developing customized private label programs based on their needs.

Designed and revitalized Career Dress line, elevating their position in the market. Designed a line of India-influenced dresses, skirts, and tops. Conceptualized, designed and built open line businesses in moderate sportswear for JC Penney, Worthington, Dress Barn, Dress Barn Women, Cato, and Lane Bryant. Doubled private label volume in two years.

Elevated product image into a high perceived value at an affordable price point. Launched a dressy denim-driven division for Catherine’s, winning the pitch in a competitive bid for this account.

Managed sample room of 25, improving product flow and achieving timely deliveries. Created, art directed, and assembled The Must Haves of the Season: trend forecasting books with a point of view, reviewing emerging European trends. Resulted in customized private label lines for each account that were trend-driven and salable.

LAND ‘N SEA, Stringbean Division

Design Director, Separates Pant Division, Moderate, 2000-2004 Managed a design team to customize private label programs with major retailers. Conducted presentations to all accounts using handmade trend books to determine their future product direction and maximize their volume.

Recruited to spearhead special projects for Kathy Lee for Wal-Mart. Conducted major forecasting presentations for all divisions of Wal-Mart. Created two major trend forecasting books and several smaller ones each year, complemented by samples to illuminate how European trends can be translated into product lines.
