Responsible for diagnostic interventions such as:

-Arterial blood sampling and analysis

-Allen’s test

-Tracheal aspirations for culture and sensitivity

-Pulmonary function testing.

-Bedside monitoring (pulse oximetry, apnea monitoring).

Administration of general therapeutic procedures.

-Oxygen therapy via different delivery devices such as nasal cannula, masks, partial non-rebreathing mask, venture mask and tracheal masks, chest physiotherapy / postural drainage, diaphragmatic breathing exercise, segmental breathing exercise, incentive spirometry.

-Aerosol therapy, O2 driven nebulization and MDI spacers.

-Suctioning of patients airway.

Educate patient and family to respiratory therapy, rehabilitation procedures, equipment operation and maintenance.

Monitor patients response to treatment and procedures.

Ensure dosage, concentration / dilutions of prescribed drugs are appropriate for patient.

Assess ability of patients to use respiratory devices.

Evaluation and assessment of patients breathe sounds.

Disinfection and sterilization of used respiratory therapy equipment including evaluation of response to treatment.

Comply with hospital infection control and control safety protocols.

Documentation of treatments and procedures administered to patients including evaluation of response to treatment.

Preparation of financial charge for all patients who received respiratory services.

Perform other job duties as assigned.
