Presently working as a Junior Research fellow in Department of Biotechnology,IBSD,Imphal,Manipur,India working in a one of the most endangered deer species in the world”Sangai” in Keibul lamjao national park.

Masters in Zoology from Department of Zoology, University of Delhi, As a part of my master’s programme, I have an hand on practice on various techniques to name a few,PCR using standard 16s rRNA eubacterial primers, dissection of primary and secondary immune organs from mice, preparation of their single cell suspension, cell viability and counting assays, subcellular fractionation of functional mitochondria, MTT assay, identification of hypothalamic nuclei following histological, histochemical and immunocytochemical methods, isolation and characterization of pituitary cells, dissection and study of larval and prepupal wing, leg and eye antennal imaginal discs of Drosophila melanogaster, immunohistochemical staining to study expression pattern of gap and pair rule gene proteins.

In the final year of master’s, I chose neuroendocrinology as my specialization subject during which I have performed cryosectioning of mice brain, staining of various hypothalamic nuclei, retrograde tracing with fluorescent markers in brain of mice, various surgeries in mice like ovariectomy, vasectomy, mammary glands etc to check their role in proper functioning of hormones produced by these organs. During my dissertation, I chose “Leptin and its receptors” as my topic of interest for my master thesis and I am thankful to my supervisor Professor Umesh Rai, Department of Zoology, Delhi University, for allowing me to carry on with my work.

Apart from all these I have a good experience in handling Drosophila and its larval stages, frogs, mice and rats, etc. I am also good in performing surgeries and dissections. 2010-2013

B.Sc. (H) Zoology with 1st division from Hans Raj College, University of Delhi Subjects studied: Bio-diversity (Non Chordata and Chordata), Animal Physiology and Functional Histology, Cell biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Ecology, Immunology, Genetics and Genomics, Developmental Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computational skills and Technical writing and Communication in English.

During my bachelor programme, I have learnt about microscopy, thin layer and paper chromatography, cytochemical staining of nucleic acids and proteins, qualitative and quantitative analysis of biomolecules, enzymology, preparation of culture medium, spectrophotometry and colorimetry, immunoelectrophoresis, ELISA, Southern blotting, PAGE, DNA and plasmid isolation, restriction digestion and ligation, recording of simple muscle twitch with electrical stimulation, DNA database sites etc. Also I have performed various dissections on fishes, frogs, earthworms, fowl, mice and rats. 2008-2009
