Career started at Hindustan Machine tools and was with them for 10 years as Maintenance Engineer. Largest manufacturer of machine tools collaborating with acclaimed companies like Oerlikon, Leibher, Kolb, Manheurin, Geildemister and Makino. Was promoted and sent to HMT (International) Melbourne on deputation for servicing at customer end.
Handled Rs 30 million cost Lamp cap project at Rao Insulating Company. Visited UK to inspect highly automated vitriding and riveting machines, before shipping. Setting of tools and Cap trials on Transfer slide Press, riveting and vitriding machines. Plant run on 24/7 basis and producing 120 caps per minute. Handled plant for 3 years as Production Manager, with optimum production of 40000 caps per shift. ROI paid back during this period. Expanded cap plant with sourcing of used machines from UK. Handled PCB single sided plant for 2 years, as Production Manager. Was instrumental in negotiating and clinching an order of Rs 4 million with MNC Videocon International for supply of PCBs.
Consultant at ATRP, a subsidiary of blue chip Anand group companies with 40 plants professionally managed in India. Sourced FFT Analyzer, piezo-electric transducers from UK for establishing and conducting Vibration Analysis in their units. Handled new project to set up infrastructure for reconditioning and machine building, from concept to end result. Reconditioned CNC machines, SPM and PLC controlled automats. Visited Seoul for reconnaissance of 150T Vertical Broaching Machine prior to shipping, and reconditioning at Mando Brakes, Chennai. (Joint venture with Hyundai Motors). Prepared course material and conducted training programme for Anand group covering Preventive/Predictive Maintenance, Vibration analysis, Condition monitoring and Lubrication techniques.
Joined Maini Precision Products, largest exporter of precision aero space and automotive components to GM, Ford, Eaton and Volvo. Reconditioned Multi Spindle and sliding head automats, SPMs, Centre less Grinders. Participated in 5S activities. After training, participated in Lean Management of GM cell. Incorporated LCA on Centre less grinders for pick and place arrangement with PLC. Organized small group activities for continuous improvement (Kaizen).
