PROJECT TITLE
Development of Low Cost Concrete By Using Hypo Sludge
Description: The project titled “EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DEVELOPING LOW COST CONCRETE BY USING HYPO SLUDGE” represents analysis performed on specimens, the focus of this study behavior of the specimens with and without hypo sludge, totally thirty six cubes and twenty four cylinders are casted and tested for this investigation with partial replacement of 0.0%, 10%,20% and 30% with aspect ratio 45 and concrete mix M30.It has been observed that for replacement of 20%, compressive strength is increased by 8.5% and split tensile strength is increased by 7%.

PROJECT TITLE
A Study On Suitability of Groundwater For Drinking Based On Wqi And Assessment Of Possibility Of Saltwater Intrusion
Description: This study was conducted in coastal region of Visakhapatnam i.e. in Rushikonda and Endada areas to assess the groundwater quality for drinking purposes through WQI by weighted arithmetic index method and identify the possibility of occurrence of saltwater intrusion. Total 13 groundwater samples were collected and determined the physicochemical properties on a seasonal basis from September 2017 to April 2018. The analyzed physicochemical parameters are pH, Electrical conductivity, Salinity, Alkalinity, Chlorides, Total Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulphates, Iron and TDS. The results show that magnesium in highest in Post-monsoon, calcium, TDS, TH and sulphates are increasing in Pre-monsoon whereas pH and alkalinity are highest in monsoon season. High values of these parameters may have health implications and therefore are of great importance to public health. According to WQI values, it has been concluded that 11.5% of the groundwater samples are excellent, 50% of groundwater sample are in good condition, 15.3% of groundwater samples are in poor condition and 23% of groundwater samples are in very poor condition during Monsoon period. In Post-monsoon period 3.8% of the groundwater samples are excellent, 46.15% of groundwater sample are in good condition, 34.61% of groundwater samples are in poor condition and 15.3% of groundwater samples are in very poor condition. In Pre-monsoon period 7.69% of groundwater sample are in good condition, 46.15% of groundwater samples are in poor condition and 46.15% of groundwater samples are in very poor condition. They are suitable for direct human consumption. Highly positive correlation was observed between TDS and EC (r=0.949) and Salinity and chlorides (r=0.9879). TDS is also positively correlated with salinity (r=0.813). Ca+2 and Mg+2 were significantly correlated with TH, which indicates that hardness is approximate measure of Ca+2 and Mg+2. Salt water intrusion was identified from the common indicators i.e. High Ca/Mg and Ca/(HCO3+SO4) ratios (greater 1), Ratio of Cl-/( HCO3+CO3) and TDS concentration. From the common ionic indicators, sampling stations near Rushikonda beach i.e. sample 4 and 8 have indicated possibility of occurrence of salt water intrusion in all seasons based on results shown. However some more sampling stations have shown their susceptibility only during some cycles. This might be due to heavy ground water withdrawal in those seasons.
