The position coordinates and implements the annual budget process for all stores, a $3.4B plan encompassing 352 locations located in 22 states. The budget consists of planning for all sales and expense line items for all lines of Shopko business (Retail Main, Pharmacy, and Optical)
Overseeing and maintaining a $45M Capital plan is also a primary responsibility, involving all Store Operations projects including Facility Upgrades, New Store construction, Store Remodels, and Corporate Merchant projects as well as presenting these projects to Executive Planning Committee.
The Store Finance team is responsible for the month and year end closing procedures for the stores as well as the monthly forecasting of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.
Monthly, the position meets with Risk Management to go over all Workman’s Comp and General Liability claims statistics in our store locations to review potential large loss claims and to discuss any adjustments that need to be made to our loss reserves.
The negotiation of all Facility vendor contracts is a key element of this position, involving more than $25M of service expense.
