●Successfully led team for the embedded real-time software development of the world's most advanced Jupiter VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) (modems) over both high-throughput and conventional satellites for the Eutelsat and Facebook Africa broadband initiative (July, 2016). This IP over Satellite product can be used both in stationary and mobile environments

●Actively participated in system requirements identification and review processes for various layer 3 networking applications.

●Contributed to system design including the terminal interface definition.

●Defined terminal development schedule and tracked progress of the development.

●Coordinated, inspected and managed the code and unit testing for the terminal.

●Coordinated and reviewed the corresponding integration test plans and ensure that the appropriate resources are in place for the test execution.

●Managed feature development of Spaceway terminal to optimize its performance through re-architecture of tasks with a very eclectic team. Implemented several recovery strategies to maintain the schedule objectives.

●Led terminal design team to support IPv6 for all of the routing applications.

●Became the point of contact for Hughes for the government certification of both FIPS level1 and level2 for the HX280 satellite modem. Coordinated activities with a third party contractor to assist in getting the documents prepared for this NIST certification and worked closely with the certification laboratories to achieve the first level2 certification for a Hughes terminal.

●Worked with design team on the ActiveQoS technology for the terrestrial modem to be able to effectively prioritize voice traffic over this transport in the presence of other data traffic thereby reducing latency and jitter.

●Worked on design to replace the Hughes developed serial gateway with an COTS Cisco router for XoT.

●Responsible for the introduction of the G.723 VoIP protocol into the satellite modem.

●Continued to develop VoIP features for both the appliance as well as the satellite modem. Wrote several proposals for implementation of caller ID, voicemail, and payphone metering support for international customers.

●Supported the largest VoIP over satellite system in the world for Telmex.

Previous Work Experience

●Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena CA: Software developer responsible for development of Feedback Concatenated Decoder, a multi-threaded application C program using an advanced error-correction coding scheme on a multi-processor Sun UNIX workstation to support the Galileo S-Band mission to decode data from the Galileo spacecraft.

●IBM, East Fishkill NY: Wrote application programs for three video and laser based coordinate measurement machines used for dimensional characterization of products for IBM's electronic packages. Also responsible for writing data analysis programs in C and APL to determine such parameters as positional error, camber, and distortion of measurement features. Conducted numerous experiments to determine accuracy and repeatability of measurements by statistical methods. Results have been used to write specifications for state-of-the-art coordinate measurement machines.
