RADIOLOGY AFFILIATES IMAGING 2013 – 2015

Chief Information Officer and HIPAA Security Officer

Saved $3M by rebuilding key vendor relationship

Rescued troubled relationship with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) vendor by reaching out to vendor CEO and scheduling status and decision making weekly conference calls to resolve issues. Rehabilitated key business vendor relationship, saving millions in RFP and vendor replacement expenses.

Met aggressive, 60-day “go-live” launch deadline

Upgraded outdated telecommunications system to significantly improve customer satisfaction

18-year old telephone system seriously compromised reliability and call quality. After carefully evaluating the features and costs of four different systems, selected MITEL system which substantially improved reporting and overall reliability, dropped call statistics, and required a very modest capital investment.

Additional Accomplishments:

Developed first ever IT budget process, managing a budget of approximately $2M.

Served as business relationship liaison for CIOs, Directors of Radiology and other business leaders at seven partner hospitals.

Spearheaded development of new company website (www.4rai.com) in collaboration with consultant, IT and marketing departments.

Initiated and completed RFP process for implementation of new RIS/PACS system.

Successfully renegotiated telecom contracts saving over $200K annually.

With rapidly growing cost of maintaining large test and disaster recovery environment, championed VMware for test environment after conducting research and cost comparisons. VMware reduced test and disaster recovery server count.

Launched successful migration of email server that improved productivity by 50%

Shifted outdated email server hardware and operating system no longer supported by Microsoft to highly efficient outsource environment after in-depth analysis of “in-house versus hosted” resulting in a more cost-effective system.

Supported all six subsidiaries of Temple University Health System including Temple University Hospital and Temple Children’s Hospital, Jeanes Hospital, Northeastern Hospital, Episcopal Hospital and Temple University Physician’s practice plan. Managed capital budget of approximately $4M and operations budget of $2M. Key accomplishments include:

Installed new management solution for 6,000 workstations

Turned around resource intensive and costly workstation into a more efficient system. Purchased and implemented Altiris Client Management Suite, providing imaging, patch management and inventory management with WISE packaging technology. Saved $120K annually.

Implemented CommVault-QiNetix Enterprise Solution for backup and email archiving

Based on new policy requiring retention of all inbound and outbound emails, selected CommVault-QiNetix Enterprise Solution gaining new capabilities and increasing efficiency. New archiving system proved highly instrumental in providing historical data/email tracking that retrieved $1M insurance claim.

Directed recovery of 650-server data center

Successfully engineered quick recovery when new data center was breached/damaged, causing UPS to overheat shutting down data center. Executed disaster recovery plan, notifying key players and bringing in portable AC to enable controlled startup of 650 servers.

Implemented policies and procedures in support of compliance with HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley.

Implemented SAN technology from Brocade, EMC and Pillar Data System.
