Manage the day to day operations of the organization. Responsible for the direct supervision of 4 full-time employees and 14 part-time employees daily from September to June. This number increased to 16 full-time employees and 10 part-time employees during organization sponsored summer camp.

Directly responsible for the hiring of all new staff, including interviews, background checks, reference checks. Since October of 2012, have personally handled all payroll, accounts receivable, and client billing functions.

Direct all marketing, fund raising, media and public awareness projects undertaken by the organization. Develop printed materials and coordinate with vendors on program content. manage the website and social media outreach on behalf of the organization.

Mange and prepare reports and supporting documentation for local and federal grants. Manage the programs that are grant funded to insure compliance with guidelines.

Communicate directly with 15 Board Members on a daily to weekly basis as needed. Integrate the Board's suggestions and recommendations into the policy and procedures of organization. Through e-mail, phone calls, and personal contact, keep the Board Members informed and involved in the mission of the organization.

Represent the organization and make presentations to local groups such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Optimist Club, and United Way.

Through the review of vendor contracts and doing proper due diligence with selecting new vendors, saved the organization over $80,000 since becoming Executive Director in February of 2010. This number represented 8% of the total operating budget.

Overcame employee dissatisfaction that was present upon my promotion through open communication, frequent meetings, and clear expectations. Employees were provided the opportunity to have input into programs and activities they are directly engaged in, with valuable insight being offered. Efficiently use the contacts and experiences developed in 20+ years of non-profit management experience to the benefit of the organization.

Assistant Director/Grant Writer Sept. 2008 - Feb. 2010 Brick Township Police Athletic League, Brick, NJ

Responsible for the fundraising and grant writing for a 3,400 member youth recreation program. Received funding from the United States Department of Justice, New Jersey School Age Child Care Coalition and the National Association of Police Activity/Athletic Leagues. Prepared the organizations 2010 United Way funding application.

Collaborated with the Executive Director and Program Director on policy and standards for our before and after school programs.

Created reports to track specific activities in our after school program. Use the data collected from the reports to monitor progress directly related to grants received.

Have provided insight and direction regarding the administration of the organization based upon extensive youth programming background. Update the organizations website to insure current content. Implemented organizational changes to improve efficiency of administrative office.

Prepared reports for monthly Board Meetings. Attend meetings, taking meeting minutes and providing written reports of meeting minutes to Board Members. Research and create various reports and distribute to Board Members and Senior Staff as required.

Worked closely with senior staff members in Congressman Christopher Smith's office to receive successful

$250,000 grant appropriation in 2010 federal budget. Collaborated with Senior Staff in Senator Lautenberg's office to achieve support in the United States Senate. Organization had never received any prior federal or state funding.

Program Director Feb. 1992 - Sept. 2008 Police Athletic League of New Jersey, Freehold, NJ

Coordinate statewide events and programs for 74 local chapters throughout New Jersey. Duties include selection of event/activity, securing location, notifying membership of event/activity, and managing the event/activity on-site. Assumed the responsibilities of the Executive Director in his absence.

Make Power Point presentations to the Board of Directors on programs and events, as well as create annual operating budget for organization. Provide quarterly reports to Board of Directors on status of membership, expenditures and income of completed programs, expenditures and projected income for upcoming events, and other expenditures. Helped the organization grow from 12 members in 1992 to a high of 54 members in 2004

Collaborate with Executive Director on program design and content. Created, tested, and delivered various reports at consistent intervals as well as on demand. Work with Executive Director on developing organizational strategy, policies, and projects.

Drafted the annual appeal letter of the organization. Have conducted targeted mail drives to solicit funding on behalf of the organization.

Represented the organization at various trade shows and conferences, including the Chiefs of Police Security Expo, the New Jersey Parks & Recreation Conference, the New Jersey State PBA Conference, and the New Jersey League of Municipalities Convention.

Organized annual meeting of the organization, including but not limited to: the securing of an appropriate facility, negotiating room rates, selection of speakers, coordinating travel requirements of speakers and invited guests, preparing agenda and presentations, and other tasks associated with such events.

Worked closely with Congressional and Senatorial staffers from New Jersey’s delegation to acquire close to $3.0 million dollars in grants for the organization Summary of funded projects is as follows: 2003 - $982,000 for Camp PAL Project

2005 - $250,000 for Camp PAL supplemental funding

Often consulted with local PAL Directors to assist with their fund raising and grant writing. Provided individual training to 5 local PAL Chapters in 2002 for preparation for the first round of National PAL funding. All 5 PAL Chapters were funded in the competitive application process.

Collaborated with PAL Directors from New Jersey, California, Florida, and New Mexico to create the Coalition of State PAL's. Assisted with the development of the proposal that was funded for $868,000 to implement a state- wide Anti-Gang initiative. Developed the program that was implemented in each of the 4 states. Wrote the RFP and training package for New Jersey PAL chapters that were selected under this pilot project.

Cultivated Wal-Mart Corporate to become a sponsor of the annual basketball tournament ($10,000) and the annual “Shop With A Cop” Program ($10,000). Received funding from local corporations such as Tyco, Community Savings Bank, etc.

Furthered professional development by attending numerous trainings, conferences, seminars and symposiums in areas as diverse as grant writing to recognizing signs of gang intervention.

Served as the Executive Director of the Jersey City PAL on an interim basis from February 2004 to June of 2005. By instilling fiscal responsibility turned a $14,000.00 deficit into a $34,000.00 surplus in a one-year period. Reorganized the existing programs to insure accountability. Instituted a policy and procedure manual to aid volunteer staff with the transition. Negotiated with vendors to reduce costs, and coordinated efforts amongst volunteer staff to promote the PAL program.
