Yaskawa Motoman Robotics Lab Assistant University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio June 2018 - August 2018

• Designed and created assembly drawings with appropriate constraints for the collaborative robots.

• Developed detailed drawings of each part of robotic arms including sheet metal parts and weldments with calculated dimensions, ISO standard tolerances and GD&T using Solid Edge ST 10.

• Dimensional analysis of single part and assembly to ensure the specification as per final design.

• Improved product design by applying root cause analysis (RCA), DFMEA and 8D/5 why approach. Research Intern Burn Design Lab, Vashon Island, Washington September 2017- November 2017

• Collaborated all phase of new design development, concept architecture, documentation, design, Bill of Material (BOM), prototype, test, validation, design lockdown, send to manufacturing plant for production.

• Fabricated new prototype of cookstove using water jet machining, welding, fastening, turning, drilling, milling and performed Water Boiling Test (WBT), Controlled Cooking Test (CCT) and Co2 emission tests.

• Measured evaporation rate and temperatures of the combustion chamber of cookstoves to increase the efficiency. Studied the effect of Thermal mass on burn rate, wood consumption, and thermal efficiency. Quality Engineer Hasu Sheet Metal Manufacturer, Rajkot, Gujarat August 2015 – June 2016

• Continuous improvement of process and product quality of sheet metal parts for various kitchenware products.

• Prepared design of custom sized high tensile bolts, blind rivets, screws and door hinges pin in all metals.

• Analyzed product data to ensure released products meet customer specification and generate a report for product certification and participated in PPAP and APQP procedure.

• Reviewed inhouse material quality issue and conduct Material Review (MRB) daily for implementing corrective action.

• Performed detailed analysis of returned customer parts and used Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) improvements. Created project plan and schedule in accordance with the project management framework standard.

• Minimized cost by executing the optimized machine speed and selection of the material of knurling operation.

• Established quality check at production level by checking part after every 200 strokes of punch.

• Achieved an optimum quality acceptance rate, least failure and increased the lifecycle of the die by 15%. Graduate Teaching Assistant University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio January 2018 – May 2018

• Provided technical support during the class of Solid Works Course and solved problems of students on the 2D sketch, dimensioning, 3D parts, assembly, rendering, animation, motion analysis, and simulation.

• Coordinated after class hours with students to provide extra attention to projects, assignments, and tests.

• Worked with a professor in course of Engineering Project Management. Guided students in their project work and graded assignments.

Engineering Projects

Dynamic Analysis of Alternative Mechanical Press Linkages

• Associated with DIMLAB (Design of innovative Machines) to generate a 3D CAD model of 300 tons of the Mechanical press in SolidWorks and conducted a dynamic analysis of Crank Press, Knuckle Press, and Link-Drive Press. Generated comparative study of all three presses for a longer dwell period at BDC.

• Compared and analyzed stroke curve, joint forces and RAM velocity of each press for the appropriate application and concluded that knuckle press performed better in deep drawing applications. Electrical Solar Car

• Constructed a solar car named Prithvi and participated in Electrical Solar Vehicle Championsh3ip (ESVC-2015) and got 1st rank in all over India. Worked as design Head in that project and designed knuckle hub for the car and optimum steering mechanism for better turning radius and 6:1 steering ratio.

• Won Best Design Award, Best Auto-cross Award and overall 1st rank at ESVC-2015.
