To secure a position as a Registered Nurse at the United Sates Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan. Bush Clinic (Family Practice) Okinawa, Japan 20hrs/week
Greets patient, identifies self, escorts patient to exam room, provide patient privacy, and assists in preparation for exams.
Strong communication skills with patients, providers and staff members.
Obtain patient data including history, vital signs, height and weight, vision (Snellen chart), perform focused assessment and chart in the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) database. Also obtain fetal heart rate using a doppler and measure fetal height for pregnant women.
Reports patient assessment and concerns to healthcare provider and discuss procedures or treatments that may be done. Can perform Nurse telephone triage.
Instructs patient on tests, treatments, procedures and medications. Can independently perform ear irrigation, cryotherapy, and obtain culture swabs delegated by the physician.
Assist physician with sterile procedures including, pelvic exams, pap tests, IUD insertion and removal, skin biopsies, and cyst removal. Also assist physician with transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound.
Maintain a clean room between patient visit.
