ACTIVITIES

I ran a group at St. Maria Goretti Elementary school called GirlPower, this was a group aimed at young girls to help them navigate hard situations that would be faced like peer-pressure, bullying, basic conflict resolution and work on self-esteem. In both Amiskwaciy and St. Maria I did one on one mentoring with a couple students who needed some extra attention, this is where we worked on more personal issues and found solutions. I love group work as I believe it is essential to allow others to see they are not the only ones struggling and to help them find resilience and comfort in the support around them. All in all I fell in love with youth work for the simple reason of wanting to be the person I needed when I was younger.
