EXPERIENCE
LOCKHEED MARTIN – Space Systems
Mechanical Designer, 2/2017 to Present
Coordinated and provided technical assistance to other designers and drafters
Provided CREO assistance
Designed components and assemblies for tools used in Space System
Designed for Lean initiative cost, assembly, and services
Provide Zuken documentation
TEL FSI, INC. Design for Microlithography, Surface Conditioning, and Immersion Equipment used in the Fabrication of Silicon Wafers for Integrated Circuits.
Mechanical Designer, 9/1994 to 3/2016
Coordinated and provided technical assistance to other designers and drafters
Provided CREO assistance
Designed components and assemblies for tool used in semiconductor
Designed for Lean initiative cost, assembly, and services
Accomplishments:
Technical Product Exposure
Played a significant role the development of 10 complex, high-end tools and technology for use in computer chip manufacturing often with custom requirements and price ranges of $1M - $5M
Solid Model Layouts
Contributed to an estimated 50,000+ solid model layouts and drawings primarily using CREO Parametric
Product Development
Participated in the development of a new Orion surface conditioning tool. Added features to the modules including mechanical and chemical enclosures as well as pneumatic head cases, electrical I/O boxes, and head spaces
This product was very successful and generated material revenue over the last seven years
Integration
Part of the team that transferred their Immersion Equipment product and technology to our Minnesota headquarters and integrated it into a new product after the company acquired a California firm in 1999
The result was a broader product line offering to the market
JIT Work
Led successful efforts in real-time restructuring, rework, and changes to options and documentation to meet aggressive timelines, leading to significant revenue generation and satisfied clients
Client Satisfaction
Addressed custom client requests over multiple product lines to ensure highly satisfied customers
On more than 25 occasions customers requested and I provided tool layout drawings to assist them in planning their facility floor layouts resulting in smoother tool installation and delivery and increased safety
On certain key projects, my team would meet customer in-person to confirm their tool requirements. Employed careful listening to enhance productivity and provide better insight and outcomes
Cost & Inventory Control
Worked diligently to reduce the duplicate part numbers in models to one uniform part
TEL FSI, INC. Continued…
Interacted with parts suppliers, analyzed their advice, and incorporated it into fabricated parts when it made sense. - Utilized SAP software for inventory tracking and parts purchasing
Problem Solving and Teamwork
Interacted with the machine shop and production floor daily to solve problems and get prototypes and with parts suppliers as needed
Worked with occasional third-party contractors to familiarize them with the company approach, preferences, and procedures
Participated as a member of the department’s Steering Committee to promote consistent and high-quality output. The committee’s work included:
-Developing and maintaining two key documents. Employee Work Topics, which included detail on FSI’s Standard Operating Practices for modeling and TEL FSI’s General Operating Procedures for other items, and General Notes in Txt Files, a series of approximately 500 standardized notes for use in model development
-Reviewing new revisions of modeling software for applicability and impact prior to releasing them into the production environment
-Working to resolve component failures in models
Quality
Collaborated with Purchasing and suppliers to meet and maintain ISO 9000 standards
Updated practices, models, and documentation
Identified and replaced obsolete parts with new parts in models or on tools on a quarterly basis
Recognition
Received Corporation Service Award
Honored with Mentor Extraordinaire Award
