Headed up multifunctional/multi-disciplinary software engineering organization including software development, system integration, quality assurance, systems engineering, and technical publications. SOA-based media post-production workflow automation system (Media Backbone Conductor). Managed software development, systems engineering, QA, as well as several successful MBC deployments including RSI broadcast station (Switzerland) and others (WebMethods 8.0, Linux).
Digital Cinema Virtual Print Fees (VPF) Back Office and Log Collection Systems. System supports accounting for Hollywood subsidies to capital costs for switching to digital projection. It remotely collects schedules and movie playout data from digital cinema projection systems in movie theaters, correlates it with booking data from distributors, and calculates monthly virtual print fee billing to studios according to contract terms. (J2EE/PostgreSQL/Oracle).
Game Information Display project for American Airlines Arena (Miami Heat). System makes real-time basketball statistics available for display on digital signage screens throughout an NBA team’s arena. System interfaces with NBA stats data feed and Daktronics Score Board with customizable UI screens (Java / J2EE (Tomcat), Windows Server 2008).
Video distribution system for stadiums (StadiumView). Managed development and deployment of the system that provides luxury suit owners access to video from stadium broadcast cameras and creates an exciting new game-day experience user by selecting their favorite HD live camera feed or replay from a user interface (Cincinnati Reds).
Sony Digital Cinema projection systems (2D and 3D/stereoscopic). System includes Sony SXRD 4K cinema projectors, digital cinema video servers, and screen/theater management software. My team was responsible for screen management system development, anti-tempering protection, system integration, secure hardware enclosure design. (Win XP Embedded, Linux, PostgreSQL) System successfully received DCI and FIPS-140-2 compliance certification and currently installed in ~13,000 movie theaters worldwide. Represented Sony in SMPTE DC28 during digital cinema standards development (ST-428-430 groups).
Digital Video Surveillance System for the government of Trinidad & Tobago. System included nationwide network of IP cameras and Sony Petasite Digital Storage System. Managed system design, software/hardware integration, on-site deployment, customer acceptance.
Digital Content Distribution System (DCDS) - Sony enterprise-level digital signage system that provides reliable targeted scheduled content delivery to thousands of remote sites (retail networks, bank branches and other geographically distributed enterprises.
Cablevision Digital Broadband System. System was designed to serve 3.5 mln cable subscribers for Cablevision iO: Interactive Optimum service and offered wide spectrum of TV-based interactive broadband services including Interactive TV, digital broadcast channels, Video-On-Demand (VOD), etc.
DirecTV Broadcast Control Centers. Software controls uplink facilities of DirecTV Broadcasting Centers for North and South America (175+ channels) in 7x24 mode. Responsible for modification to system architecture and design.
Multi-channel Broadcasting Transmission Automation System. System automated multi-channel transmission using RAID-3 technology and advanced origination-quality MPEG-2.
