Interim CFO/COO of US Shelter Corporation one of the largest DOO’s of Multi-Family Apartments in the Southeast. Completed a partial Chapter XI bankruptcy restructuring corporate and partnership debt while improving operations going forward. Sold the company to Insignia Financial Group.

Sourced, underwrote, negotiated and closed billions of CMBS transactions across multiple property and Industry lines. Closed $700 million in whole loan purchases from several banks for re-presenting in CMBS pools.

Spearheaded an asset management group of 9 responsible for direct equity investments, joint ventures, foreclosure activities, workouts, corporate real estate assets and financing programs. Direct responsibility for creating strategies to maximize stakeholder value investment returns.

Advised Pension Funds and Institutional Investors on real estate investing, planning and strategies including new construction, loan purchasing, workouts and bankruptcy reorganization alternatives.

Start-up operation to build a commercial Private Equity real estate operations and development firm with the goal of taking the company public within a 5 to 7 year timeline. Developed and implemented the firm’s strategic plan including acquisitions criteria, financing direction, M&A growth plan.

As Director of Acquisitions completed over $300 million in acquisitions, consisting of more than 5 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties. Road mapped the M&A platform with the purchase of a Prime Retail Outlet Center (ROC) in the Caribbean, which resulted in the $631 million purchase of Prime Retail one of the largest DOO’s of ROC’s in the world. Prime Retail was sold to Simon Property Group for $2.325 Billion. Enabled the merger and acquisition of Prime Group Realty Trust for $889.4 million and the $8.1 billion merger of Extended Stay Hotels.

Worked with mezzanine lenders, preferred equity holders and private investment groups on capital raising efforts for the firm’s existing investments, M&A transactions and new investment opportunities.

Made the firm’s initial IPO of $300 million happen and enabled three additional IPO “add-ons” in excess of $900 million. Worked with lawyers, consultants and broker dealers networks on SEC filings, advisory and marketing efforts respectively.
