JOB PROFILE

Main responsibilities:

Ensure that Quality systems, procedures are implemented and maintained as per ISO procedures and job procedures.

Implement ITP/project quality plan.

Liaise with project manager / Project Engineer / Supervisor.

Ensure specification and drawings are of the latest issue.

Inspection of Various incoming materials involved in the project.

Collate all material certification data ensuring materials etc. comply in full to client specification/code requirements as well as verifying with PR/PO.

Marking, Cutting, Fit-up and welding inspection as per approved drawing.

Dimensional Inspection of Critical Structures, Pressure vessel, fit-up component, final welding,Tank structure etc.

Visual inspection of solid control system tanks and all piping works involved in the rig.

Witness Non-destructive testing such as UT scanning, MPI & DPT.

Interpretation of Radiography films and review of reports.

Maintaining all measuring & Inspection equipment.

QA/QC SUPERVISION:

Studying the Scope of Work, Specifications and Standards & perform the work in compliance to the specified requirements.

Co-Ordinate with Client/TPI for carrying out the required activities as per ITP/NDT plan project scope of work and Reviewing of ITP, NDT / Weld Maps for Categorization and Classification of Structural Items.

Witnessing of Welding Procedure Qualification and Welder Qualification tests and Destructive Testing of Specimens.

To advise on repair techniques, materials selection, welding procedures, inspection and testing requirements...

Witness Hydro testing of piping / vessel as per Hydro test package. Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of various types of valves.

Oversee all QA/QC activities undertaken by contractor and review the level and standard of such activities and report Non-compliance to project specifications. Verify As-Built drawings, Material reconciliation reports and QA/QC dossiers.

Preparing of ITP, welding matrix, welder qualification certificate, final dossier including all documentation activities.

MATERIAL INSPECTION:

Inspection of all inward materials for Decks, Process platforms, fired heaters, Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers etc.

Familiar with all material characteristic like CS, SS and other alloy steels.

Receiving inspection of materials & equipment’s for all the projects.

Managing the overall material control for the various projects in coordination with material control group and clarifying the technical issues questioned by client and third-party during the fabrication stage.

Review and approval of Contractor requisition and before processing & Review of Mill Test Certificates for the Procured material and verify for the compliance to the requirements. Observations are recorded and the Contractor is to be advised of additional testing of the material for Compliance to the required Standards and Specifications.

DIMENSIONAL INSPECTION:

Having vast experience in dimensional inspection of shop manufactured components for plate works, piping, pressure vessel, critical fabricated parts as per approved drawings.

Having vast experience in dimensional inspection for site erection of large fabricated structural components in refinery, cement plant, shipping yard.

Selecting the correct measurement and approach assessing with measurement device, procedure, assessing any measurement interactions.

Calculating the measurement uncertainty of individual measurement devices and/or measurement systems

Familaration of various dimensional instruments like steel role tape, straight bar, venire scale, micrometer, height gauge etc.

Using for remote dimensional measurement like Theodolite, survey meter, plum gauge etc.

Well conversion with dimensional tolerance for fabricated items.

Hand on experience for fit up inspection, welding size measurement using welding gauge.

WELDING/NDT INSPECTION:

Reviewing of WPS/PQR.

Visual inspection of weldments.

Monitoring before, during and after welding & Records parameter complying with approved WPS/PQR.

Verification of Filler/electrode for SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW welding process as per client specification/WPS requirement.

Conducting welder qualification test as per various standards.

Radiography film interpretation, Ultrasonic Corrosion survey, MT, PT inspection. Review of NDT Reports and maintain all related files and records.

Perform UT Thickness / Scanning and visual inspection as required and compare with the previous document to note corrosion level, highlighting and submit.

The detailed internal and external welding inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, direct and indirect fired heaters, storage tanks and other items of associated equipment.

PAINTING INSPECTION:

Vessel/Tanks External Coatings. Packages structural Painting including process equipment, Piping.

Responsible for all QA/QC documents & Daily progress report.

Verify correct size of Abrasives used for blasting. Carry out inspection of surface profile, as per standards.

Ensure that paint / coating materials are used from approved paint manufacturers with valid pot life.

Ensure that the application of coating is carried out as per the technical data-sheet of the manufacturer and approved painting specification.

Ensure that proper time intervals between intermediate coats for proper chemical and mechanical bonding.

Witness / checking of Dry Film Thickness and Holiday detection / Pin hole detection’s and Ensure that calibrated testing equipment is used.

CODE/STANDARD FAMILARATION:

ASME Sec II, Sec V, Sec VIII Div-I, Sec IX, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, API 1104 and also familiar with reference of various ASTM Standards & Classification society for shipyard.
