I am excited for the opportunity to apply for the position of Receptionist. I believe the position parallels my education and experience in General/Medical Administration and Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, as well as operating an office for three years.
I am a St Clair College graduate with a General/Medical Administration certificate which consisted of a two year program attaining knowledge in computer software, drafting professional documents, professional etiquette of business operations, basic accounting, terminology and a four month placement. I am approaching my final semester this January at the University of Windsor, from the Liberal Arts and Professional Studies department with an area of concentration is in the Environmental Studies division. Through the Liberal Arts and Professional Studies program, I have acquire skills in the area of composition and writing, philosophy, government, professional ethics, labour studies, public administration, leadership and management, diversity and inclusion. Furthermore, I have volunteered for Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons through the Volunteer Internship Program at the University of Windsor. I devised documents and presentations for their program.
In the past, I have operated an office for Demarco Funeral Home as their administrator. I was under the direction of two Managing Directors, performing clerical tasks, reception, customer service responsibilities, scheduling meetings, electronic mail, constructing memos, drafts, documents and contracts for clients as well as business organizations. The position had a strong focus on clerical operations, decision making abilities, time management, organization skills, customer care and confidentiality pertaining to sensitive information. Through my academic studies and volunteer experience, my acquired knowledge and skills include a strong understanding of administration responsibilities, the importance of executing projects in a collaborative method, the importance of critical thinking and researching skills. I am a focused, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with strong interpersonal abilities, as well as written and oral communication skills. My strengths also include building positive business relationships, motivating peers and establishing collective loyalty between business partners and the public.
