Release Management
Increased release process from weekly to daily by improving functionality for easier release in core system and subsystems. Ensured teams were more disciplined, in order to keep a regular cadence.
Board Governance
To solidify membership through greater board governance from key stakeholders, establishing and updating board mandate, objectives and by-laws, by recruiting board participation within member companies, and efficiently executing bi-monthly or quarterly meetings.
Government Lobbying
Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, the association contacted and conferred with members of legislature and other holders of public office to persuade them to support legislation favourable to member's interest:
Communication Management
Working with the Vice-President of Communications, developed and executed an association wide communication plan to align social media, website, quarterly magazine and weekly newsletter with the association’s strategic plan.
Business Development / Sales
Within one year of updating the membership renewal sales cycle and implemented new sales tools, increased retention rates by 2%, increased gross membership fees by 8% and exceed overall net revenue target by 4%.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Participated and played a key role in launching new CRM technology in order to manage over 9,000 members ranging from national firms to independents. Contributions included extensive procedural development, customization recommendations to meet all customers’ needs, and leadership to unite different company units. The result was an improvement in communications and tracking of key stakeholders, streamlined internal processes, and increased staff productivity because of automation.
Benefit Partner Program Development and Management Introduced and executed ten new benefit programs within 18 months. The process required identifying industry-leading partners, ensuring the programs would meet the needs of members, negotiating a preferred rate for members-only that was competitive in the marketplace, securing a rebate for the association, and subsequently launching each program based on a multi-channel marketing plan and targeting key audiences.
Strategic and Business Planning
As a member of the management team, participated in strategy discussions to determine the future direction of the association. Based on the strategic plan, develop annual department business plan and budget to align with associations objectives and ensure tactics and new initiatives will deliver the results needed to hit targets and budget. Financial Management / Budgeting
Reduce the department expense budget by 30% within three years, without compromising the number of programs offered or impacting the quality of the product. Supplier contracts were renegotiated, over $800,000 in products and services were solicited at no cost to the association, and operational efficiencies and new technology were implemented to achieve increased programming. As well, managed membership budget of over 4 million dollars in revenue per annum.
Employee Management / Development
Assisted with the restructuring of the membership department; which accounts for over half of the company’s annual revenue. Introduced a new customer service team and removed redundant positions, the result was a more efficient and cohesive multi- level operating unit. Overall, there was an increase in programming, improved business processes, and a significant improvement in workload capacity, all achieved in less than 18 months.
Event Management
Organized and arranged various events from concept to completion in order to educate members on industry trends and retain memberships, while aligning with the association’s strategic plan. As well, planned various award programs to celebrate the member’s commitment to the industry.
