Originally from Sweden, but a resident of New York City for the past seventeen years. I currently reside in Ridgewood, Queens with my wife and children. My son is 12 years old and my daughter is 3 years old. I was fortunate enough to take paternal leave with both of them.

I have a minimum of 4 years experience of working in a beauty and fashion retouch studios and a total of 13 years of freelance retouching. I have excellent skills in composition, beauty, skin and garments. I have a secondary education from Östra Real, Stockholm, Sweden and a degree in Economics from Frans Schartau Business Institute in Stockholm. After school I performed 1 year of mandatory Swedish Military Service as group leader within the paramedic unit. Afterwards, I moved to Paris, France and studied 1 semester of French. In 2001, I moved to NYC to pursue a career as a Fashion Photographer. As a freelance assistance I worked for several top Fashion Photographers including Mikael Jansson, Camilla Akrans, Oliver Zahm and Carter Smith amongst others. Since assisting, I have gone on to shoot both men and women’s fashion, for clients such as WWD, Details, Nylon, Elle Magazine, Brooklyn Industries, David’s Bridal, C-Wonder, Aritzia, Sephora and La Mer among others. In my career as a photographer I’ve had extensive experience with ensuring high level of quality and accuracy across all kinds of assignments and varying workloads. My experience ranges from studio management (up keep in the studio, and/or equipment, producing, setting various lights) through to production; communicating with clients, hair, makeup, stylists and assistants on set, both via email and face to face. I enjoy working on a team and pride myself on my collaborative skills. I’m able to make fast decisions and execute them based on the desired aesthetic. I’m consistent and exact, motivated to make work look as strong as possible, and to be as efficient as I can simultaneously. I have a minimum of 4 years experience of working in an e-commerce fashion photography studio and retouching environment, and a total of 13 years of photography experience.
During these years I’ve set up three e-commerce studios. I’ve led and trained the teams working there and I am always excited to work with new people. My job description included lighting design, studio set up, purchasing equipment, hiring personnel and finalizing images. As a Senior level retoucher, I have experience in file assessment, comps/color corrections and technical retouching, following retouching notes, mark ups, pathing, liquify, making sure accuracy and consistency across images and coming up with new ideas and solutions. Freelancing as a retoucher for other photographers I’ve had to collaborate on files with complex file structure in a team with other retouchers, over seeing post production as well are finalizing images on my own. I have an excellent eye for detail and proportion. In addition, I have expert skills in Photoshop CC, Wacom pen tablets, masking, retouching skin, color correcting, Capture One, Monitor Calibration, Adobe Bridge and Adobe Lightroom. Recently I’ve also had the opportunity to work on a book with fine art photographer Stephan Crasneanscki, about Jean Luc Goddard, where I’ve been able to grow creatively and immerse myself in the fine art world. The book is planned to be released this fall. As Creative Director, it was my job to oversee the retouching, lighting and composition of the project.
I’m looking to combine all this experience and expertise, as I aim to transition to a position full time on the corporate side of the Fashion & Beauty industry.
