Production/Financial Analysis: Assessed cost and implemented a system to track scrap cost that cannot be captured by SAP; investigated issues with inventory and shipping for cost and advised on counter-measures to decrease loss and improve shipping to clients on time; noted lack of safety procedures and advised management on need for permanent onsite safety; managed BOM and part revisions in SAP; verified changes on production floor; thorough interactions with production and root cause analysis identified multiple issues and provided solutions, for example (this is a single example of multiple analyses that I performed and corrected):

Issue: Scrap discrepancies.

Identified causes: Production staff was not trained to use SAP or Excel so scrap entries made in Excel and SAP were incomplete, incorrect and were backlogged by several weeks; multiple versions of the scrap reporting sheets existed on the production floor; no way to capture cost of scrap associated with incorrect batch protocols

Corrective Action: Scrap reporting by production to be done manually ONLY and using a same, controlled form; analysis and entry into Excel (for trending) and SAP (cost and inventory tracking) must be done by a trained finance individual who is also producing the appropriate trend reports to the Controller; spreadsheet created to capture scrapped parts with incorrect batch protocols

Engineering/Technical: Review ACAD drawings of various parts to create Work Instructions; insert ACAD drawings into various catalogues and engineering packages; validate engineering documents against drawings and physical components for accuracy and minimized loss due to incorrect or missing inventory, analyzed reasons for expedited shipping costs and/or delayed shipment from plant to customers
