The Accountant maintains the investment schedules for the Militancy and

Defense and Building funds; prepares financial statements and Graph quarterly for Executive Council Reports; reconciles the monthly membership counts; calculates accrued expense of Fair Share payments; working from approved AFT and organizing budgets by assigning appropriate account numbers for meetings, projects, committees, printing of the all budgets for AFT; create excel spreadsheet for each department of newly assigned account numbers; assists with preparation of tax forms (990s and 1099s) for organizing projects; assists with reconciliation of financial statements for organizing projects; provides on-going support to organizing project staff and National Representatives in performing accounting functions. The Accountant assists with QuEST registration, and also assists with sale of publications and maintains the petty cash at the QuEST conference. Strong computer skills.
