Inventory Control Supervisor

Trained and managed three inventory team members at three warehouse locations; supervised anywhere from four to 24 indirect associates for this producer of ramen noodle products.

Also served as warehouse supervisor; oversaw all receiving, transfer, and shipping functions, and hired / trained new employees.

Identified, analyzed, and reconciled raw materials (~300 SKUs) valued at up to $2M daily.

Performed all inventory adjustments using proper reason and GL codes, and reported adjustments during managers’ weekly meeting.

Generated all reports and transfer documentation regarding inventory, receiving, shipping, cycle counts, and perishable / discontinued, items.

Instituted JIT inventory; checked BOM for items, verified product availability, and created documents for remainder of SKUs to fulfill production requirements.

Cut POs, established shipping and receiving appointments, communicated logistics to vendors, and tracked shipments.

Monitored data flow between systems, balanced inventories, and ensured alignment by providing reports to QC and production management.

Streamlined processes by creating time calculation spreadsheet (for use in posting process).

Wrote and published step-by-step manual to facilitate and enforce proper shipping, receiving, cycle counts, returns, and posting processes.

Limited incoming traffic by creating RTS and AMR (Additional Material Request) to ensure accuracy of information provided to warehouse regarding returned product; significantly reduced warehouse discrepancies.

Selected Accomplishments:

Collaborated with Purchasing Department to institute JIT; reduced in-house storage and implemented transfer process to improve inventory tracking and reduce cycle counts and outages by 30%.

Created WIP (in-production) reports to cut 20% from posting process and reduce error rate from two per day to day to one per week; raised inventory accuracy to 99%.

Established account with CHEP (which provides all pallets for shipment to COSTCO to achieve less than 1% variance between POs and shipment to their locations.

Tested and implemented Savant (WMS used to pull and ship product); verified functionality and suggested changes to software engineers to simplify process.

Contributed to successful JD Edwards software integration.
