I was very excited to learn of your opening for an experienced administrative assistant. I was able to hear about this job opening fromGlassdoor.com. Personally, I wanted you to know that not only am I very interested in working with your company, but I believe that I would also be a good fit. In the past I have had more than 3 years of administration experience from a variety of different office settings (from working in large international hotel offices to working in smaller refugee resettlement non-profits). I believe that with these past experiences in mind I could provide a unique perspective in promptly solving the many everyday problems that arise in office work. Moreover, I have already have experience in many of the duties and responsibilities involved in this type of work. I see myself as a well-rounded and open-minded candidate perfect for this position. I am a native Chinese speaker, fluent in American English, with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. I am also knowledgeable in working with a plethora of different cultural backgrounds and intercultural communication. Given the opportunity, I would love to prove that I am a dedicated employee, a quick learner, attention to detail and multi-task skills in a proficient manner, and I believe that this mindset will certainly carry over into many aspects of my work ethic within your organization.

I am qualified for this position for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I have had a number of experiences working professionally with developing client relationships and offering exceptional client service; Through both written and oral communications (including professionally answering/transferring phone calls, promptly responding to mail, planning appointments, etc.). Beyond this, I am confident that my experience interning with Church World Services as a case manger assistant would allow me to transfer into this position seamlessly. This experience consisted of working with legal documents (applying for government benefits for refugees, securing housing, organizing important files), scheduling appointments, working with clients (over the phone, in person, and via mail), unique problem solving, as well as just about any other duties you would see in your average office job. While I occasionally worked with human resources, my main job was to set up interviews for our recruiting manager, prepare documents for meetings, financial disbursement, booking flights, and coordinating travel accommodations. On top of this experience, I have on numerous occasions worked with coordinating events for UNCG’s Chinese department. As an employee, I am flexible to work well in groups, 1 on 1 environments, and independently. I am a capable public speaker/presenter and have clear communication skills through both oral and written mediums. I am comfortable with conflict resolution, proficient with computers, while also having strong time management and organizational skills.
