Process Engineer, Innotech Inc. (Subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson) Petersburg Virginia 1996 to 1999

Engineered and managed the construction and implementation of a new production process in a new plant for a new company. The process involved a new procedure and technology for manufacturing optical lenses. Responsible for providing the primary technical support for this facility, including developing required FDA medical device validations, process documentation, and implementing all environmental and safety programs from startup to final Production levels.

Made improvements in the process that increased yields by 60% over three years.

Developed a polyolefin injection molding process that produced 4000 geometrically different gaskets and to develop the blended material from which the gaskets were molded.

Developed and managed several different processes which consisted of producing polymer from monomer, and then, casting power plates using gaskets and glass mold assemblies filled with the polymer.

Validate the process and each of the 4000 different products produced in compliance with FDA standards and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Utility Engineer, Sydnor Hydrodynamics Richmond Virginia 1995 to 1996

Provided technical support and managed water systems for 135 different communities across Virginia.

Managed the replacement of a 120,000 square foot roof and several other facility projects.

P.M. and Associates, Managed projects for an Architectural and Engineering firm implementing facilities design modifications (HVAC electrical and steam line) for institutional projects. Design Engineer-Fluor Daniel Richmond Virginia 1988 to 1990 Provided Piping and HVAC system design services to industrial clients.

Established scope, schedule and costs and wrote reports detailing industrial ventilation and environmental requirements required under court order for a large industrial facility that had been cited for multiple violations by OSHA and State Environmental authorities.

My work was used by Client Company officials and regulators to decide the fate of the facility. The facility was eventually shut down and is now a superfund site. This high profile issue was covered extensively by the media. I presented the report, as required of the client, to the Secretary of Virginia's department of Labor and industry.
