GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT ASU JANUARY 2017 - PRESENT

Developed new design approaches for UHPC joint-slabs in ABC Bridges using constitutive analytical approach, funded by Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) ($300,000);

Performed three and four-point bending (3PB and 4PB) tests on notched and un-notched FRC beams and round panel (RDP) tests based on ASTM C1609, EN 14651 and ASTM C1550, on Bekaert, BASF, Euclid Chemicals, ABC Polymers' Products ($100k);

Tested and analyzed the mechanical (quasi-static and dynamic) behavior of a state-of-the-art type of Nylon fabric used in NASA's aerospace missions with a full-scale FEM analysis using LS-Dyna, in a team-based research group. ENGINEER DESIGNER ESPIDANMFD APRIL 2015 – DECEMBER 2016

Investigated the effect of height on the seismic behavior of base-isolated buildings with and without SSI effects ($50,000);

Examined the effect of SSI on the seismic response of a composite (RC) bridge and 40% improvement in transverse seismic response using laterally restrained shear-keys ($60,000);

Performed assessment of the seismic behavior of a 76 m high steel stack using modal pushover analysis and nonlinear response history analysis and suggested some strengthening methods using steel jackets to improve the strength by 50%;

Analyzed the seismic performance of steel structures with plan irregularity, using SAP2000 in a team-based environment, and provided some rehabilitation approaches that improved the energy absorption by 30%, using BRB braces ($80,000). GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT UNIVERSITY OF TEHRAN SEPTEMBER 2013 – MARCH 2015

Developed an innovative method for the strengthening of beams in steel bridges using Pre-stressed FRP, in a cooperative research group, located in Switzerland, and proposed a new analytical approach based on energy methods which resulted in 40% improvement in the flexural strength of two bridge girders in Switzerland and Australia, funded by ETH (€500,000);

Seismic design of a six-story concrete building in Tehran (Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures);
