The owner of Design asked me to join his company and help eliminate operational issues he faced on a continual

basis.

This was mainly quality, productivity, adherence to procedures and HR issues. I improved productivity, streamlined the warehouse so items could be located, which before was difficult at best.

As much as I wanted to purchase an existing business, I couldn't locate one with the basic sales and equipment I

needed, so I looked for a location where I could start NorthStar from the ground up. This meant determining the proper location, up fitting the building for my operation, purchasing all of the needed

equipment, hiring of personnel, developing and implementing the processes and procedures needed to run the company.

My responsibilities at Precision was for the entire operation, from estimating to shipping the completed product.

In my time at Precision I was able to increase productivity 15%, reduce FTE to a level with the work load,

eliminate bottle necks that impeded the operation and improve margins. My intent in going to Precision was to purchase the company, which didn't happen as the owner decided not to sell.

My responsibilities were for the entire of the plant as if it was a stand alone operation, rather than part of a larger

corporation.

When I assumed the Plant Manager position total revenue was approximately 13MM per year. I was able to grow the company to 39MM plus in sales within five years which increased profits exponentially.
